A hidden gem, but a bit scruffy
This hotel is an amazing find for the adventurous. If you're looking for ritzy modern digs, this won't be for you, but this tucked away "from another era" hotel is a good price, close to things in Waikiki, and suited us just fine. The downstairs open-air lobby was cute, and had many nice places to lounge. They had water and iced tea dispensers available throughout the day, and we greatly appreciated them when we returned from excursions. My husband enjoyed the breads and pastries put out for breakfast, but since I am gluten-free, I just bought my own food to enjoy. The room itself was quite a surprise as it wasn't a suite but a full apartment. There was a full kitchen with fridge and hot plate, a full bathroom with a deep tub, and a complete walk-in closet. Bed was comfy and the ac worked. I was most happy to find the washer and drier area on the premises, and the koi pond off the lobby that doubles as a smoking area was a magical find. The downsides were that the place wasn't as clean as I would have liked. It was musty and stuffy when we arrived, but opening the sliding doors to the lanai cleared that up. The kitchen had chipped counters and cabinet doors that didn't close, and the lanai was filthy with grimy floors and dirty furniture that looked better after I wiped them down with cleaner. Still, my bare feet turned black every time I walked out there. There isn't much of a view, just the building across the street, and sadly the noises outside can get a bit much. The nearby parking garage puts out a horrible buzzing sound every time a car exits, and an Irish pub across the street rocks with crowds, music, and flashing lights until four in the morning. Thankfully closing the lanai doors cut off all outside noise! Overall, I enjoyed this eclectic little hotel, but it might not be for everyone.

Great hotel just needs to be updated
The hotel is in a very good location its in the center of everything. The customer service was top notch. The hotel definitely needs to be updated and they need a better breakfast menu such as eggs and meat and not juat a bunch of different breads.

Would stay again
The location was fantastic, staff friendly, clean premises and within our budget. Bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. Air conditioner worked well when needed. We enjoyed some time in the pool which was clean and quiet. Easy to walk to where we needed to go. Great hamburger and chips at the little store beside the hotel and an ABC store just a block away.
