Apr 22, 2025Very nice hotel, but if you want an umbrella on the beach look somewhere else
We just got back from 5 days at the Marriott Stellaris. Here are my thoughts. Positives: 1) Lovely resort. Very nice lobby with sushi bar, gelato counter, Starbucks and typical resort store. Two nice pools, an adults only pool and family/other pool with swim up bar. On a beautiful beach. We didn't use the casino. 2) We had a great corner room with windows on two sides, one side over looked the pool and the other side the ocean. My husband and I slept in the king size bed and our 17 year old daughter slept in the pull out sofa (junior suite). 3) Adults only pool was wonderful. Quiet and peaceful with its own bar. 3) The staff were very friendly and responsive. 4) Good breakfast at restaurant on property. Negatives: 1) If you want an umbrella on the beach you really should look somewhere else. As others have mentioned, the reservation system for the palapas is a nightmare. We went online at exactly 5:00 each day to reserve a palapa for the following day and within 30 seconds they were all booked. We got a palapa only 1 out of 5 days. You can get lounge chairs for the beach easily, but without an umbrella. 2) Getting an umbrella at the pool was almost equally bad except my daughter is an early riser so was at the pool by 7:30 each day and was able to save us chairs under an umbrella. 3) I have always thought of a suite as two rooms. Here the suite means the room comes with an open-up couch. 4) Dinner at the restaurant on site was pretty bad.

Apr 21, 2025Served its purpose, Needs major Overhaul
After spending 4 nights at the St Regis which was beautiful we needed to change hotels. My go to is Usually the Ritz or The Hilton. Unfortunately both were booked so we opted for the Marriott being I had points. We booked the adults only Tradewinds. The only thing to me that made this worth it was the whole floor was dedicated to adults only. The lounge wasn’t worth it in my opinion. This hotel is in need of a major renovation, the whole place smells like mildew, the rooms are outdated and the adult pool was in need of a deep cleaning. The staff was very nice at the hotel especially at the adult pool. The Bellman and the checkin at Tradewinds. The Sushi lounge has good sushi but the Lobby is very loud, due to the high ceilings everything echos. When we would get up to our room on the 8th floor and look down on the lobby my husband would call it the beehive. Because that’s what it sounded like a buzzing noisy hive right outside our room. Thank god once inside the room we couldn’t hear it. The Restaurant Mercat was your typical Breakfast Buffet or ala carte menu. We mostly ate dinner off property. I most likely will not stay at this property again even though they are going to be renovating. It was just way too overcrowded for me. I like a less crowded hotel without unsupervised teenagers running all over the place.

Apr 19, 2025Tradewinds floor is worth every penny
Second time on the 8th floor and it keeps getting better. We love Aruba restaurants but when you want to stay on property, you can’t beat what they are serving in the club. In 4 days we had short ribs, tenderloin, mahi mahi in shrimp sauce, crab cakes and great salad bar spread every lunch and dinner. This chef can cook! Lots of flexibility to take beer and drinks out of the club. Super fun and friendly staff.

Magical Stay at the Stellaris once again!
We just got back from a magical trip in Aruba. My husband and I stayed at the Stellaris to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We were treated like royalty from everyone on staff - most especially Ludwig Croes. When we arrived he gave us our welcome gift and was extremely friendly, warm, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make our stay as beautiful as it was. He became a true friend who we look forward to seeing again the next time we visit. Thank you, Ludwig!! And thank you to all at the Stellaris who help us make the most amazing memories there! We will be back in the Fall for sure!
