There was no difference between the two buffet options, in fact lunch was below expectations. Coffee machine in the room was disgusting.

Staff make this Barcelo great. Warm and friendly. Beach is very safe. Property is kept very clean. Food in all venues was excellent with a good variety at the buffets.

Barcelo Huatulco great value! Manager Etanislado Valdovinos is exceptional!
We have stayed at numerous all inclusives (4&5 star)and the Barcelo Huatulco is great value. We stayed in a large premium suite with two bathrooms & multi level wrap around balconies. The service and food / cocktails were excellent. Manager Etanislado Valdovinos is exceptional. Thank You Etanislado for a great vacation.

Beautiful location on Tangolunda Bay. Anna Baragan, probably spelling her name wrong was the best, always smiling and helpful. However, we did not expect weather to be so hot and humid esp. in November, air conditioner worked great but couldn't enjoy sitting on our deck. Huatulco is very southern Mexico . Housekeepers kept our room very clean, bed and pillows comfy. Very few English channels on TV, glad I had Apple TV and Netflix on my IPAD.

Jan 09, 2025Second time at this hotel - food safety is a concern
We stayed at this hotel from December 30 to January 6 to celebrate New Year's, and while the New Year's Eve event itself was incredible, I was deeply concerned about the food handling practices that followed. The morning after the celebration, I noticed that food from the event had been left out for over 6 hours the night before was being served at breakfast. To my dismay, this same food continued to appear throughout the day in various forms. Proper food safety, including rotation and temperature checks, is always critical, but it’s especially concerning at a buffet where items can sit out for extended periods. Unfortunately, I became very ill after eating something from the buffet that I believed to be safe. My family, who didn’t eat the same item, remained unaffected. This was our second visit to this resort, but I was extremely disappointed by their lack of food safety practices. Reusing food from previous days without proper precautions is unacceptable and poses serious health risks. It’s clear that food safety is not a priority here, and I hope this issue is addressed promptly. We had hoped to return this year, but we've decided to start exploring other vacation destinations instead. It’s unfortunate, as we truly enjoyed the hospitality and amenities this hotel provided. If you vacation here, I recommend skipping the buffets and opting for the restaurants instead. However, this can be challenging since the restaurants only offer seating in the evenings.
