Long Review of Dec. 2024 Trip!
Myself and my fiance visited in early Dec in 2024 and had a wonderful experience! We were back and forth on going here because of the mixed reviews, but overall I'm extremely satisfied with everything. Let me break it down: Room: We stayed in an ocean front room (I believe it was building 5) and the view was UNBEATABLE, especially when you consider the cost. The bed was what I think is an Alaskan king. I had never seen a bed that big and it was super comfortable. Robes and slippers were included, we always had 3-4 40oz water bottles in the room, as well as soda and beer. We never had to ask for more of anything. Housekeeping was a bit unpredictable but thorough—one day they even cleaned twice! The varying schedule didn’t bother us since we spent most of our time enjoying the beach. Food: This is the only reason I'm giving my experience 4 stars. The food was not great but also not bad. I wouldn't say we're picky eaters and I already had the expectation that all inclusive food is not great, but truly I had zero issues finding food. The Dominican night at the buffet was good, Chez was also goo, I recommend getting the lamb. Las Brisas was better than Chez in my opinion but the upscale vibe is very nice at Chez. My favorite place was hibachi on the Palace side, the private dinner on the beach, and room service (which is free if you're premium). If you're looking for fine dining, this isn't the place. But I don't know that any all-inclusive resort is going to provide that regardless. Drinks were always good though! Pool/Beach: THE BEST PART. We would grab seats at the pool in the morning and go back and forth from the beach. We never had issue findings seats on the beach, but the pool does fill up. Sometimes we didn't get down to the pool until 10 am and we were still able to find seats. The water in the pool and the ocean was a little cold for me so I never got fully in either, but when it got warm I stuck my feet in. There was also cocktail service at the pool but not the beach. Service: Considering how many guests were there, I would consider the service great! Sometimes it was tough to get help at the morning buffet but when you walk in and see the size of the place, it will make sense. Usually you could just walk up to someone and ask for a drink or whatever you needed and they'd make it happen, but it was hard to get them to your table. Service at the restaurants was always great, along with at any of the bars/cocktail servers. The only time it was hard to get a drink was at the Palace pool bar because that side is insanely packed and was terrible lol. I don't recommend spending the day on the Palace side. Entertainment: The entertainment at this hotel was so much fun!!! They have different themes each night (salsa, bachata, rock band, etc). Sometimes they did karaoke as well before the shows which was always a blast. The entertainment staff was amazing and they work really hard. They work ALL DAY trying to keep guests entertained. We did try spending one evening at the Palace side and it was a disney show so we went back to the adult side before it even started. Other things: I got sick (not related to being in the Dominican Republic) and went to the doctor onsite and he was very nice and helped me get better immediately. It's good to know you have those options if you were to get sick and you don't have to go off site! Both hotels are very close and if you're able to walk, the walk along the beach is beautiful and only takes about 8-10 minutes. We also did photos from the photographer on site on the palace side after we got engaged and she did an amazing job and only charged us $400 for 1 hour photo time and 75 edited photos. I would definitely go back here! It was exactly what we were looking for. Very relaxing, but has a fun side to it. Most of the clientele is 50-60s with sprinkles of adult age kids or couples like us (29 and 33). If you're looking for a rager, this isn't the hotel for you. You absolutely can have a great time and get drunk if you want to but you don't have to worry about people getting too drunk and making a mess or starting fights! Highly recommend this hotel for a good time on a budget!

Punta Cana's Best Adults Only Resort
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3rd two week stay at this hotel during the last 12 years. Highlights: the food in all 11 restaurants and in the buffet. the All-Inclusive deal for all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. the huge pool where one can swim for more than 30 metres in a straight line . the available activities every day eg the Pool Party. the night time entertainment in the main theatre eg the Michael Jackson show. the Gym. the luxury rooms with lots of hanging space, drawers and shelves. We highly recommend this hotel for couples or groups of friends.

Relaxing Vacation
We stayed at the adults only resort. We enjoyed our relaxing couples vacation. I love how the beach was combed every morning. We are from cold climate so it was amazing walking the beautiful shoreline every day. The food was good with normal adult portions at the restaurants. We loved the deserts too! The multiple buffets were overflowing with good food options. Drinks were ok but seams like the alcohol was not as potent as I expected. Our room was ok but we didn’t expect 5 star. We did not purchase premium because we were not planning to be in our room much. We had the same person check us in and out. He was much more excited to check us in. He did not ask how our stay was which surprised me, especially since they were not busy when we checked out.

Wonderful Resort
We just returned from the Barcelo. It was a wonderful resort! The beach was stunning. You can walk for miles. The pool was beautiful. We also had access to the Palace pools, restaurants, entertainment….. The bars did a great job!! We enjoyed all the meals. Lots of variety. The room was large and clean. The mini fridge was restocked daily. We would absolutely go back.

I don't recommend it
Great pool, a beautiful hotel, and a great beach, but far from anything else. The buffet food was awful - most of the items were really old and stale. The restaurants were much better. The room was old and smelled bad. We had a leak on the toilet that was never fixed. The room was cleaned every day but it was not mopped and the shower/toilet area was not cleaned.
