Big disappointment!!!
We had an extremely disappointing experience! The advertising and pictures on their website are very misleading. This place does not deserve a 5-star rating. There is nothing luxurious about it; the hotel is quite run down, with mold, cracks, and rust everywhere. We had to wait until 6 p.m. for our room; apparently, they were cleaning it. However, the hotel's occupancy was only about 25%, with maybe 50 people total. The room was spacious but needed significant improvements—the sliding doors were nearly impossible to open and had a support beam blocking entry to the patio. The mattress was very hard, and the sheets had stains. The shower also had very low water pressure, and one sink was clogged. The refrigerator was not functioning correctly. There are only two restaurants, and only one is open at a time. The food was mediocre, and you had to pay extra for better options. The alcohol was so watered down that I questioned whether it contained any alcohol at all, and the service was very slow. The smoking area was right next to the pool and bar area. You have to use bikes or wait for the golf cart transportation since the distance from the lobby to the beach and restaurant/bar is approximately a mile. Additionally, there is a $20 delivery charge for room service, beach towels are in limited supply, and the promised amenities, such as a yoga class or cigar bar, do not exist. The construction on the adjacent property starts at 7 a.m. and continues until 7 p.m., creating a loud disturbance throughout the day and waking you up every morning. Due to the loud and continuous banging, you cannot even sleep in on your vacation. Keep in mind that the construction of what looks like a big resort just started in April 2025, so it will probably be going on for a while.

Peaceful and beautiful hotel
I want to start this review by highlighting the positive aspects: By far, they offer excellent service, very personalized, warm, and hospitable. We were particularly struck by their distinctive greeting, where they place their hand on their chest. On the other hand, the food is mostly à la carte. We rarely saw a buffet; occasionally, they even served fresh fruit, which we thought was great! the room was very comfortable, comfortable enough to relax after a sunny day. The downside: The beach is covered in sargassum, which makes it difficult to enjoy. Even though there are more than three people cleaning the sea, it brings more with it. The rooms are a bit far from the beach. There are alternatives, such as golf carts or bicycles. If you want an alternative to avoid the sargassum, you can use their aquamarine rooftop or their spa. It's extremely peaceful, with nothing around to disturb you, it always smells delicious, and there are also very comfortable lounge chairs

good experience in a peaceful place
The place is extremely beautiful. We were a little surprised to see some bad reviews, as we truly had an incredible time. We received nothing but good treatment and excellent attention from all the staff. However, it's clear that despite this, not everyone can be pleased. We had a pleasant experience. The food was outstanding, mostly à la carte, so we felt it took a while to be made at the moment. However, receiving a hot and delicious dish was worth the wait. The views were incredible, and the room was comfortable and spotless. The only negative point I have to mention is the piles of seaweed (sargassum) that washes up on the beach. Despite the fact that there are people cleaning and removing it, it's not possible since more is arriving all the time. However, we can assure you that this isn't the hotel's fault. We asked and they mentioned that the best season is August and September when this marine debris is gone. We hope to return around that time.

Definitely doesn't deserve a five star
Far from what it looks like in the pictures, and very disappointing. We stay there for five nights and the food was pretty much the same but very nicely presented unfortunately the service was very slow and there were Birds in the dining room sitting and eating from the buffet, look at the picture I took, you never knew if you were eating the blueberries or the Birds droppings. We had more than 24 hours of no air condition and that was real bad we couldn't sleep at night we couldn't leave the doors open due to animals walking around a room such as iguanas and more. We requested the front desk to bring us some fans that we can place in the room during the night of course we were denied the way they handle that air conditioning issue was just on professional The place is outdated and needs to be remodeled the floor is squeaking and not leveled so you keep hitting it while working in the room. There are two rain showers only one was working upon arrival we had no hot water it took an hour or so for a technician to fix. On this Resort You really depend on Transportation from the lobby golf carts And that you Need to call Every time you go to the pool or to eat At the restaurants. Food service at the pool was just bad one person only is the barman and serving the food . We were a group and we had to move around chairs at the pool for trying to sit in the shade or together, getting a drink at the pool took 25 minutes waiting for food was about 45 minutes and still the order came out wrong.

Romantic and Quiet
Super private! This is a great place for couples (or solo travellers) wanting to escape it all. There are no shows, no entertainment, no sports bars, or night clubs, no activities. Just a beautiful apartment, great food, and high quality drinks. They have two beautiful pools overlooking the ocean, but nobody ever used them (water was cold). The beach is lovely, but the wind and waves and seaweed were too much. Only a couple of couples that we saw braved the water, and only for a brief moment. There are no paddleboats, kayaks, or anything like that. Instead, this is a place for lounging, eating, drinking, and then the apartments. We didn't do the spa treatments ($$$) but those are available, too. We stayed in JR Patio Suite. It was clean, large, and well supplied, quite a ways from the beach. We loved the double shower, and the patio was an experience. Beautiful! The plunge pool was nice, but the water was cold, so we only ever dipped in quickly to cool off after the long walk to the restaurants/beach. The resort is about 1.5 kilometers long in a straight line, a long string of apartments (the ones in the overhead photos are only the premium suites). We used the shuttle service on occasion, but it was often longer to call and wait than to walk. And the walks were wonderful -- private, lush, well-groomed. We rarely ever saw a single person (besides the friendly workers) on our walks. There are three restaurants, all a la carte. Breakfasts at Aquamarine were a true highlight. Lunch at Aquamarine and Ceviche were both excellent. Dinner rotated between Aquamarine and Ambar. These were very good, but we are a vegetarian and vegan couple and the main course options were limited or bland. They had good options of soups, salads, and starters for vegetarians (vegan was a challenge outside of breakfast). Beyond vegan limits, the only irritation was the beautiful day beds. For 3 of our days there, the day beds were set up and heavily used. If you waited 20-30 minutes, one would open up, but never free for very long as they were in demand. They were lovely. One was set aside for Circle One premium members, and it was never used. For the 4th and 5th days, however, they moved all of the daybeds up into an exclusive area and made them all Circle One only. For two straight days they sat empty, unused. Considering how little the resort offers, it felt unnecessary and almost punitive to take the daybeds away -- for nobody! How strange. Overall, we loved our room, we loved the food (especially breakfast and lunch), and we loved the extraordinary quiet. Silence is a luxury these days, after all! We loved the lushness of the ground.
