You can't call the resorts, they don't take incoming calls, very, very strange....
we wanted to call the resort and speak to someone, but this $950.00 per night hotel does not take incoming calls, yes you read that correctly, you cant call the front desk, room service, a restaurant, the concierge desk, a manager on duty, nobody. When you call 407-824-3000 which is the Grand Floridian hotel's local numer it connects you with a woman overseasat a call center who does not speak english and did not know what 'concierge' was, I believe they were in India, but im not 100% sure, she wanted my name, address, and phone number and then told me the resort has no phone for incoming calls, This is outrageous, bye bye Disney, never again...

Primary incentive...
Once again, we've continued our tradition of visiting the Grand Floridian several times, during our December Orlando stay. After a comfortable meal at the Grand Floridian Cafe (see separate review); we enjoy immersing ourselves in the resort's Victorian ambiance. We walk the grounds, view the landscaping, architecture and seasonal decorations, sit/relax as desired; and sometimes rent a pontoon, to experience the shoreline and waters. We then return to the lobby, and continue to marvel at the spectacular gingerbread house, and towering Xmas tree; all accentuated with an almost endless parade of fascinating humanity. We will usually listen to several sets of music from the lobby pianist (especially appreciated, if performed by the amazing Wes Hamrick). And, of course, the afternoon/early evening wouldn't be complete without indulging in a tasty Mickey's premium ice-cream bar. All and all; spending several days at the Grand Floridian throughout our 3/4 weeks in the area; is one of the primary incentives for our Orlando visits.

Nice hotel, but a bit overpriced for what it is.
Of course this is a lovely hotel with excellent choice of restaurants, beautiful lobby and stunning victorian decor. I have stayed here before the refurbishment and we were in one of the nearby buildings about 5 minutes walk to the main hotel building, our room had a very nice view and the choice of toiletries in bathroom was excellent. If possible however do request not to be put into an adjoining room as then the noise from next room travels quite fast and we unfortunately had a family with kids next door - you can hear the conversations through the walls. I recommend you try to dine at Victoria & Alberts as it's a beautiful restaurant and one of the very few away from screaming kids.

Total frustration
I made a reservation in Grand floridian to celebrate my weding anniversary enjoying the hotel that my husband chose. Our expectations were really frustrated. Our check in day was a sunny and beautiful day and everything we wanted to do was to have our room ready and enjoy the pool. Since our arrival, at 1 pm, we received diferent expectations of getting our room and it was never ready. By 5:30 pm we were told that we had to understand that they do not guarantee our entrance at any time, as the 3pm checkin should be understood as “starting as”. In the end we arrived at our room after waiting for almoçar 5 hours in the sofa, couldn t change to to the beach since it was already dark, and had to hurry up as we had a dinner reservation. In the day after Disney app started to ping at 9 am saying that we needed to leave before 11am and at this time the app checked us out. i definitely do not recomend.

Deluxe Disney Resort with Mary Poppins overlay
We stayed in a top level room in the Conch building at the Grand Floridian, so the ceilings were high, and we had a great balcony view of the resort. The bathrooms were really nice! The Mary Poppins overlay in the room is super cute and a nice update they made to the resort.
