Great stay
We had a brilliant time at Divi Southwinds. The grounds are lovely and maintained so well! The hotel was very clean and staff work really hard to keep everything clean. The pool area was very quiet and we were often the only ones in the pool! Staff were very helpful. We had a night flight on the day we left and we were allowed a courtesy room to shower and change at a chosen time which was so helpful. We arrived in the evening with 2 young children and their sofa bed was not made up. We asked reception and the guy who came up was quite rude and said we should have made up the bed ourselves which was fine if someone had explained but did involve finding various bits of bedding from cupboards which we wouldn’t have known. It did have a bit of an air b and b fend for yourself kind of feel to it. There were lots of activities at the hotel and people coming with kids….dont buy inflatables in the local shop! They have lots of inflatables available to use at the hotel!!! Overall though it was great. We loved watching the various wildlife including parrot like birds and monkeys from our balcony every morning!

A thoroughly enjoyable stay!
My family and I had a really lovely stay at Divi Southwinds in early April. Our one bedroom apartment was fine for me, my husband and our 15 year old daughter. The room and kitchenette decor is a little tired but I genuinely thought our room was quite charming. Our apartment was clean and spacious with a perfectly functional and well equipped kitchen. Our bed was huge and so comfy. Our daughter had the sofa bed in the lounge which was a bit uncomfortable when she first got on it. We called reception and they ent up a chap with a thick mattress topper and the issue was solved. The resort is set in beautifully maintained gardens and only a really short walk to the beach. Our room had partial sea views which was a bonus! The beach is set in a cosy corner of a long white sandy strip, with Pure Ocean providing breakfast, lunch dinner and drinks throughout the day. Food is of a good standard and we ate there often. Don't forget to book a table for Chill & Griill on the beach. A real treat! There's a small pool by the beach which is lovely to sit by at sunset. There is another small quiet pool (The Flamboyant Pool) then the main pool with baby pool next to it. The main pool was usually quite busy but you could always find a lounger. Next to the pool, and where you change your towels, is an information room with a very helpful lady who can help you book trips and tours There is mini golf, a kids play area, tennis courts, basketball and a small gym. The gym is on the end of a little parade of shops comprising a boutique, a handy convenience store and the spa/beauty salon. The staff we encountered throughout the hotel were all fabulous, friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember all their names as they helped make us feel so welcome. Special mention to Akeem, Hamilton, Darian and Xavier and all the staff at Pure Ocean for looking after us so well. Another special mention to the lady from the management team who knocked on our door with a birthday card, cake and bottle of non alcoholic fruity fizz for our daughter who was celebrating her birthday at the start of our holiday. What a lovely touch! Really made her day! There are a few little shops near to the hotel and a very good convenience store. There are also a good selection of restaurants and bars just along the road from the resort. I felt very safe here. The street vendors all got to know us and I felt a warm welcome from all. We had a fabulous time and I really can't understand some of the negative reviews. If you want a really fancy resort, this isnt it but we loved it The value for money was excellent for the location, facilities and great service. Well done all at Divi Southwinds. We travel a.lot and I was more than pleasantly surprised with this little gem!

Bajan bliss at the Divi Southwinds
Excellent location on the Gap, fantastically friendly staff, great ocean view from Pure Ocean restaurant. Superb variety for breakfast, lunches were delicious when we had them. Great Chill n grill evening with fire eater. Faultless food. Immaculate grounds and gardens, blue yellow and green parrots, monkeys, cranes and whistling frogs, the building looks a little tired but the rooms were spotlessly clean. Great beds and pillows, plenty if storage. Kitchen fully fitted with ice maker too! Tiny gripes definitely a need for bigger bathroom towels( same size as beach towels at least!), make more use of the Bajan Breeze restaurant- poolside no atmosphere, not well stocked drinks wise, no coffees available. Reported a large pool light hanging in the pool it was still there after 5 days. That being said it did not effect our holiday and we would love to return.
