  Excellent hotel, great location, would recommend

  Really enjoyed our stay, lovely hotel, rooms, very clean and reasonable size. Food / drink quality was excellent and the service in all restaurants also excellent, great to have a choice of a la cartes with no reservations required, portion sizes in the a la cartes are huge and could be halved and still be enough, no kids menus but they would always offer a kids option, again portion sizes are big. Several of the pools are heated which was needed as the non heated ones were a bit chilly, kids enjoyed the kids club which was run daily and the spa was lovely with a large heated pool, sauna and steam room. low key day time activities (water polo / water bikes / yoga) and generally quite quiet by the pools. Nightly kids disco / entertainment. Location is perfect, beaches are a few metres away and great for kids as very sheltered, papagoya bike rental was fantastic and had a great selection of bikes. Promenade is great for biking / walking / running and nice views of papagoya beach. Really enjoyed the volcano tour too. We’ve had a fantastic holiday and would highly recommend the hotel.

  Lovely hotel but it’s windy microclimate is a big negative

  Our stay at Dreams was a compromise to holiday with friends, but in many ways we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is great - friendly staff, wonderful location and a good selection la carte restaurants. Our room was small and modest, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The minibar is refreshed daughter as part of the All Inclusive package. The big problem is the wind! The hotel seems to have its own microclimate caused by its design, meaning you’re hit by strong wind as soon as you step into the grounds. It can be cold when sitting by the pools, all belongings must be weighed (or pegged!) down and drinks are easily blown over! The children’s pool (with slides) isn’t heated and although fun, isn’t for the faint hearted as it’s so cold - inside and out! As much as we liked the hotel and its location, the wind was really annoying - particularly as it stopped as soon as you left the grounds. Otherwise, it was great!

  Don't go for the food, don't pick half board or all inclusive, verify that bed type is correct if you go.

  Note that the triple preferred room that we had was advertised as having a king bed, but it didn't (Queen size if st all). Also the mattress was sagging. This place advertises as family friendly, but there is much that can improve this. The positive: The kids club has some outdoor play structures (climbing, slide, little house) a football/basketball pitch and an indoor soft play and creativity room. Staff are excellent. Adjacent pool seems unheated (cold) and for a significant portion fairly deep (1.80m). The pool has 3 water slides and a little toddler area (that is not functioning). This area is removed from the rest of the hotel/restaurants. The areas for improvement: There are 3 further pool areas (with multiple pools including kids pools), one of which adult only, but notably despite 2 of the areas not being adult only, any floats or balls are not allowed (even in the kids pools). When enforced, this is done in the least friendly way possible. Additionally, for a resort that advertises as child friendly, having 75% of your facilities off limits for anything that keeps kids happy (toys, floats, balls, etc.) is an unfortunate choice to say the least. All pool areas have bars, none have food options though and only way to get food is going to the restaurants. Often you cannot order anything at the bar without room key (although sometimes you can and I am not sure why). Towel service is hit or miss, but frequently miss with it running out of towels by 10am (and our first week wassn't even busy). Poolside beds are reserved by guests (despite against hotel policy) but frequently half the beds are claimed but empty, with no beds available for other guests. The buffet restaurant is poor quality and expensive (if not included in half board or all inclusive package). Do not choose half board here as it is a waste of your money (see food and drink section).

  Amazing Service and Break

  Stayed for 3 nights over Easter weekend. Check in excellent and having booked a Pool View room, we were really impressed with the quality of the room given the price we paid. Spotlessly cleaned every day and mini bar restocked daily. There is a fridge which allowed me to store a carton of oat milk bought from home so I could have coffee in the room. We ate in the World Cafe and Barefoot Grill - food was excellent and plenty for vegetarians. The overwhelming memory is that the staff and upkeep of the property was second to none. The staff were all polite and helpful and the hotel environment was exceptionally clean. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful weekend break.

  Total waste and absolutely awful place

  Avoid going there is the best tip I can give you. The food is horrible, no easy access to the beach, pools are dirty and waiting staff don’t know the definition of hospitality. Even if I paid 1/10th of the price, it would still be classified as a horrible place to stay. Go anywhere but here.
