Apr 24, 2025Dreams Onyx Did Not Disappoint
Another trip to a Dreams resort. This was our first trip to the DR. Food and hospitality were on par with the other Dreams we have visited. The resort layout take a bit to get oriented but it's compact and easy to navigate once you get your bearings. All the restaurants are in the same building/area which we hadn't seen at any previously visited resorts but it made meeting up with friends (we had a large group) fairly easy. There are bars scattered all over the property which made drink lines short to non-existent as we caught the end of spring break to avoid the chaos so that was nice. Service was excellent, Carolin was our favorite and she went above and beyond, even learning our favorite drinks and making sure we were never empty. The beach was excellent and easy to find chairs and the adult pool was very well laid out and relaxing (we missed spring break so keep that in mind). Overall we liked it and will return eventually as this is our 4th Dreams property but are still trying out new ones.

Excelente!
Dreams Onyx is a wonderful resort for adults and children - there is something for everyone. The location is beautiful, the property is well-maintained, and there are serveral restaurants and bars. The pools are lovely and the waterpark is a lot of fun (beware that there are height and age requirements for the big slides!). By far, the best thing about the resort is the staff. They are friendly, helpful, and they really treat you like family. We will definitely be back!

Apr 23, 2025Good Resort, Ok for Kids, Amazing Food
Went as a family of 5: 2 adults, 2-yo, 5-yo, 7-yo. The kids activities were decent during the day, but scarce at night. The kids club was mostly watching TV. We went to Nikelodeon resort the year prior where the kids activities and club were magnificent, which meant the parents were content. The best part was the food -- the best steak I've ever had in my life. The food came fast and wait staff were very good.

Dreams Onyx. Overall great
Wonderful stay at this resort. I upgraded to a preferred swim up room and it was well worth it. The former room was fine but I wanted better pool and beach access. Overall the entire experience was excellent. There was one guest that had a daughter in a wheel chair that seems to want to bully people at the resort, which was strange to do on vacation. Also, the bulter could have done a better job describing the Property and its services. But truly overall great. I found the buffet better than most all inclusive, and the beach was very nice and clean. Staff were friendly and engaging. I would absolutely recommend.

Restaurants were extremely overcrowded and food was not the quality I expected. Beach activities were all closed due to some holiday and this was not relayed to us before we book the trip. Very disappointed! The buffet food was a better quality than the restaurants. If it were not for Juan, our Butler, the restaurant experience would’ve been horrible. All of the restaurants are overcrowded. The rooms were nice and the hotel staff was wonderful.
- AdvisoryStudent Groups (Spring Breakers) are not permitted at Hotel. A student group consist of those that travel without parent supervision or a responsible adult in each room.
