Excellent family vacation
We had a wonderful time on family vacation, very good service, delicious food. It exceeded our expectations. I would just like to suggest: Please throw garbage in the assigned places, do not leave garbage on the beaches or in any other place other than the one indicated. Taking care of nature is everyone's responsibility. "The heavens declare the glory of God, And the firmament declares the work of his hands." Psalms 19:1 RVR1960.

A Decent Time For Relaxation
Checked in after midnight. My room was clean and welcoming. Nice soft bed, minibar, couch and table, big shower with shampoo dispenser, clean toilet and bathroom sink plus a flatscreen tv with a variety of channels. The staff was friendly and attentive. Knew when to serve you and when to leave you alone-granted they had like a hundred other guest to take care of so make sure you tip them. They all work very hard to make your stay pleasant. The pool was great. Large and not to deep. The swim up bar is the highlight of it all. Cocktails, beer, water, pop. They have it. Hot tub was very comfortable. The beach, while small was okay too. Keep in mind there is a lot seed weed washes up on shore but baring that you'll be fine. They lounge chairs or available poolside and beach side. Also I was able to leave my phone and keypad while I went swimming without anybody stealing it. Then there was the waterslide. Great for the kids and the kid in you will like it too. The food is also decent. While I admit it wasn't gourmet, it wasn't god-awful either. Depending on you standards you'll find it at least filling. The only places I ate were the World Cafe, Barefoot Grill, The Bluewater Grill and the Mexican restaurant El Patio. The waitstaff was amazing. Make sure you get a fresh omelette for breakfast. There was a griddle in the lobby that made you fresh tacos in the morning so it was nice to get some authentic Mexican food for breakfast. The spa itself was amazing. First time I went to such a place and it was fantastic. Highly recommend it for first timers. Keep in mind they will try and sell you something. They have other like the Coco Cafe, for coffee, Nutri-bar form smoothies, a giant chess board and a game room for the kids. The also had live entertainment but I personally didn't bother with most of that. I did use their gym to work out and had no problems with it. I only have three negatives. First was my shower door didn't close all the way but that wasn't a big deal. Then there are the birds. The gulls specifically. Do not leave your food unattended or they will swarm at it within seconds. Lastly, at the À la Carte restaurants, do not expect big portions. Overall, I had good time and got my moneys worth. No big issues, just a nice sunny, get away from it all vacation.

Excellent resort to relax and enjoy the property
Just go! Typical Mexican resort. Everything in the room was perfect. The shower leaked on the floor but hey I’m not cleaning it! :) Beds were comfy, air con worked perfectly and the shower was always hot and good pressure. The food and drinks were great as was the service. No complaints whatsoever! The buffet restaurant was exceptional and always had a good selection and was fresh. We upgraded to privilege mostly for the adults only pool and lounge. They make delish expresso martinis. Both were pretty great! People will always find something to complain about….dont read those reviews. This one is honest. lol

Made the best of the Highs and lows
My husband and I visited this resort January 11-18 2025. We were Preferred Club, King Oceanfront. I'm writing this on our last day. This was our second Dreams experience. We did not choose this hotel (long story) but booked after doing research. It was fine. Other reviews proved to highlight the issues. Pros: - our room in building 3 had a lovely balcony overlooking the beach /ocean. We spent time there every day and enjoyed watching the moon on the ocean, sunrise, cruise ships passing by and listening to the waves. Bed was comfortable, nice shower and easy walk to anywhere we wanted to go on property. - Mexican night (Sarurdays) was very nice with a delicious buffet in the lobby bar and fun Mexican show. Two other nights have shows and buffets in that space but we didn't know until last minute so we passed. - Portofino, Himitsu and Bluewater grill had great Dinners. Himitsu sushi is delicious and fresh. Portofino has a great app buffet. Carlos was a great waiter both times. Bluewater also has delicious breakfast. The Chilaquiles are amazing and so flavorful. Gummer and Eduardo are excellent waiters. - Preferred club lounge is one of the I established we have experienced with substantial snack and dessert options all day and a nice big round bar. It was well used. - Barracuda beach bar has so e swings which are fun. Alberto and Carlos work so hard serving drinks! Antonio makes a great Iceberg. - main pool is large and caters well to families/ kids. Marco, Solomon, and David are excellent bartenders providing great service. They have games,DH, and music and activities. - fire show and rock show were excellent. It didn't work out for us to see everything. Guitarist in the lo by bar was very good. - the ocean front swim up pools on the south end looked amazing! They were on the beach, huge and got bar service so they were well used. Lots of sun. Cons: - lack of resources. We arrived at the resort early and would have loved a lounger anywhere but there was nothing to be found. I was so disappointed. They do not have anywhere near enough loungers for all their guests. It's the worst I have seen. Bali beds .Just be reserved for a fee even for the preferred pool. We never pay for beds when we travel. That was disgusting. Even the new Indigo side has an ugly beach, hardly any loungers and zero shade. I hope it's because they just aren't done yet. - lack of dining. Gad the buffet for lunch and it was barely adequate. We tried it for breakfast and it was DISGUSTING!!!! We were seated at a dirty table with no napkin or silverware and we're ignored until we asked for service. No coffee or water refill. It's very small and food Choi especially were poor. We never returned. Specialty restaurants lack capacity and it can take up to 2 hours to be seated. I felt bad for the staff as people were so unhappy!!! -Amstar is not great. We were " uograded" to shared transfer nonstop. I expected a smaller shuttle. Technically we got that but we were crammed onto a huge bus and just happened to be the first stop. Excellence does private car transfers. Definitely a down grade. The Amstar rep seemed to be colliding with vacation club (all owned by Hyatt). If we agreed to be shuttled to a Secrets for a presentation we got money towards an excursion. We wanted Chichen Itza. However you don't get to use the facilities, you just waste your day going there and back. Based on my experiences, I would never consider Hyatts club. Other resorts are far superior. The Amstar rep made false negative comments about Viator which we used to set up our Chichen Itza tour with Amigo Tours who was AMAZING. I think she erred in assuming we have not traveled all over the world and know how Viator works but her comments immediately negated any credibility she had. I wouldn't trust her with anything. - room: the room is large and spacious but with no shelves or storage. No place near the sink for toiletries and hair styling products. No hooks or shelves for beach bag and sun screen. We made it work but that was ridiculous. Mini Bar was pathetic. We had one mini can of pringles which was never replaced and a mini bottle of vodka. Most resorts have 4 options in room. - beach was very full of seaweed. That is so very hard to manage. But we walked south to Excellence and North to H10 and the difference was staggering. I did see them trying a couple times and it helped. It is so hard to manage. - chair game, we had to be out by 7-730 to get chairs by the beach. We never bothered trying at the main or adult pool after the first day when we saw what was going on. Sure you can PAY for a bed which is insane. On the whole, once we figured out what was going on we adapted and found a routine which worked for us and allowef us to have a fun week in the sun. We did have a lovely week together. Would I return, No. But the trip is what you make of it and we made it a good one.

Hubby 50th Birthday Vacation
The preferred club is for sure not worth the money. It was my husband 50th and I wanted to spoil him but definitely not like the pictures or description. The Preferred Pool however was nice and private. The pool concierge guys are fantastic. Jose at the preferred pool was awesome as well as Mar & Antonio from entertainment were great and so much fun. Mar has the best energy. The bellboy Basili was fantastic and always willing to help with anything. The Asian restaurant was super good and they have the Best Waitress named Roselly. She made our meal that much better. The staff overall there was really good except at the buffet, most days we never got drinks even or our plates cleared but tip still expected. Just don't spend the money on the upgrade.
