Spacious suites with a few issues
Pros: -We traveled with two little kids. This was a very good hotel for families. They had a nice kiddie pool, beach and pool toys easy to purchase and kids under five eat free at most of the restaurants. They also gave us cribs, diaper pail and baby bath tub which was appreciated. -The rooms are recently renovated - very spacious and nice. -Beautiful lobby. -the beach was nice and calm -they offer a free complimentary shuttle to anywhere in Wailea which was helpful and convenient. -free laundry machines though you have to purchase detergent at the market. -breakfast buffet had a good variety Cons: -on our day of checkout, we called ahead two hours in advance to schedule a bellman to help us with luggage. Not only did they never show up but they didn’t even answer the phone when we called a few times in the next 15 minutes. This resulted in a very unnecessarily chaotic check out experience. -Gym was okay, not great. It wasn’t as big as it needed to be for the number of guests trying to use it. The AC in the gym was completely insufficient and barely improved after we complained many times. The humidity and lack of AC felt unsanitary. They didn’t have many fitness classes either. -the onsite market was horrible. There were long lines at most times and the service was extremely slow. They had almost no snacks available for purchase, really only chocolate gifts and a few bags of chips. -the beach staff were extremely unfriendly. They also packed up the chairs very early in the afternoon which felt very abrupt. Overall, we would come back because the suites were so appreciated but I hope management can address some of these concerns.

Bad service and BS “NYE” Party
Came here for NYE week received horrible service. Pool stops service st 4:44…other bar near pool stopped at 5. Then we went to enjoy the touted “new years eve party” and it was legit nothing but a normal night at Pilina. They had live music (as I’m sure they do most nights…this particular band would play 3 songs and then take a break). Nothing special for new years. Don’t tout a “party” and do nothing. Also, my kids food took over 1 hr to come out and I had to complain to get it after they watched my husband and I get multiple courses. My son was asleep before he got to eat.

WOW!
A drop-dead gorgeous lobby with soaring ceilings and beautiful architecture. All open and really gives you the sense of being in a grand, majestic place. Rooms have been renovated and are spacious and beautifully decorated. Bathroom is gorgeous and huge. Deck was a great size, but our “partial ocean view” room and minor view of ocean, and good view of the dumpster in the alleyway which was certainly annoying. Spring instead for the ocean or garden view rooms. Grounds are beautiful and spacious. Beautiful walkways with wonderful gas tiki torches lit at night that make it magical. Had a drink at the bar in Pilina and it was wonderful—completely open to the beautiul grounds and buildings. Although this is a large hotel, the buildings are of gorgeous architecture and are spaced so they’re not crowded. Ate at Nick’s Fishmarket and it was perfect. Beautiful outdoor seating, terrific food and service. A perfect place to stay in Maui.

Love the suites and beach
We stayed here for the first time recently. Absolutely love the suite design, tons of storage space, a bathroom that can be accessed two ways, walk-in shower, entryway area with closet and buffet, large lanai with table and chairs and lounge chair. Super comfortable mattress, bedside USB and power plug-ins. Liked the dining options, loved the beach in front of the hotel and the staff that sets up the chairs and umbrellas for you.

Very noisy people on the beach and you're right next door to them
The hotel room was lovely, clean and very nice. The hotel manager was very helpful Nice. The guy that checked me in it was horrible. I had asked for a garden room and upgraded through the hotel. And got a room with a wall. The manager allowed me to upgrade for a fee to an ocean view Room. The beach rules were terrible. You had to be there at 8 AM to sign in. They put you literally right on top of your neighbor and if you had to leave to go to lunch, you'd have to start all over again with the chairs you heard everybody's conversation and heard the kid screaming in your ear. Was not relaxing like most other hotels
