Worth the long travel time from UK
We arrived in the evening after a 12+ hours journey from the UK, very tired and not quite with it, but the impressive hotel entrance perked us up, lots of green, a huge conical roof and waterfall and the reception staff friendly and professional. We had no issues with check in and the rooms were just as we expected. I had emailed ahead of time to request a low floor and rooms with a balcony. We had premium garden view rooms. Rooms were clean, well maintained (someone came to put a new bulb in the toilet light on our first day - we hadn't reported it, so the bellboy that delivered our luggage must have. The aircon was perfect and we were able to set it to our preferences On the second day we asked for a third bed to be added so our 6yo didn't have to share with his mum, they did this no problems. The beds are really comfortable and I had no trouble sleeping. It took me a few minutes to work out how to use the coffee pod machine (not having one at home) and the mini fridge was well stocked with water, beers and soft drinks. A few more juices would have been better as we're not fans of soda but the fridge refill guy came every day and checked we had what we wanted. Our maid was lovely, rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed even when we hadn't asked for them to be. The food in the main buffet restaurant was great - breakfast omelettes cooked to order, a huge variety of things to have and plenty of good quality fresh fruit and juices. The restaurant staff were fab, friendly, attentive and accommodating our 6yo who has a hidden disability causing behavioural issues, interacting with him and making sure he was safe (sometimes he gets so excited he has no sense of danger such as watching out for people with plates of hot food or trays of drinks). The evening buffet had theme nights and these were a bit hit & miss in the quality, but we always found something to satisfy and lots of new foods to try. The show cooking was great, and the chefs would make you any combo of things to suit your taste. We tried the other restaurants too, which you cannot book and have to queue for. This isn't a problem if you go down for before they open and get a drink whilst waiting for it to open. The Italian was great and they did a special birthday dessert for our 14yo. The steak house was a bit disappointing, the cuts of steak on the AI menu weren't great, but I think it would have been better quality if we'd gone for the steaks offer as an 'upsell' at extra cost. Our favourite by far was the Chevicheria - the fish/shrimp tacos are superb, our 6yo loved the calamari too. I went after 2pm and sat at the bar to eat my tacos, as the table service was very busy and often a long queue for a table. The lounge bar was quite loud at times, has giant screens showing sports (mainly American football, baseball and some soccer) but there are seats in the lobby which you can get a drink and relax. We played Uno and snakes and ladders with a few beers & cocktails, which were always top notch. The pools are clean, deep enough to swim properly, although if you're under 5 feet tall you will be on your tippy-toes! Our 6yo is part fish so he loved it, especially the 'hot tub' sections! There was good entertainment and plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing, be it water polo or lazing around a submerged table with a drink. Inflatables are allowed. The children's pool was good too, although I found the bottom felt a bit slippery so I didn't feel stable walking around in hot, it's about knee-high on an adult. The pirate ship slides were a big hit. The burger/hotdogs/nachos bar at the pool served really delicious food – again you could have any combo – I loved the cheesy sauce on my fries. The ‘healthy food’ bar was not as great, especially if you wanted something not on the menu such as a plain cheese & ham panini. The pizza bar was good, not fantastic but freshly made with plenty of toppings People were up early to put their towels on the loungers but the staff did come round checking they were being used, and removed any pool towels where the beds weren't being used after a few hours. We took our own lounger towels and managed to get the loungers we preferred every day, going down about 7am. I relaxed with a coffee from the cart in the lobby afterwards, getting a peaceful seat by the living pool in the atrium, which has beautiful koi in it. Although the white sandy beach is public, it doesn't feel like it as there aren't hundreds of people there and there are loungers and palm sunshades available. The lifeguards are very alert, which is just as well since the waves were a bit choppy and the pull of the tide was strong when we were there. Although getting pulled out by the waves made our 6yo laugh. It was very relaxing standing in the waves and watching the pelicans sweeping and diving. There was some seaweed on the beach but it didn't bother us in the slightest. The red flags were out most days so wasn't safe to swim but we enjoyed it nonetheless. We only went to one evening entertainment as our 6yo needed to be in bed well before it started at 9pm, but the show we saw was brilliant, in an air conditioned theatre, and even though we sat at the back, we had a great view. Unfortunately there is no ‘kids’ disco’ in the early evening, which our boy found disappointing, however, I’m not sure if this is a ‘thing’ in Mexico, as it is in other places we’ve holidayed. Overall I’d return to the Fiesta Americana Condesa, it was a great holiday experience, high quality and value for money.

Hotel is good, and had amazing experience at Mexican restaurant
Hotel is good, accessible, food is decent and staff is friendly. My best experience (perhaps surprisingly) was at its Mexican restaurant. We were celebrating my family’s birthday and was having dinner there, and not only was the food great, but Nieve (our server) was kind enough to recommend certain drinks and make conversation with us. Forgot how we can often get lost in the crowd, but feels good to connect. 10/10

Ice cream shop
Paola was extremely kind every time we stopped by the ice cream shop. Her customer service skills are unmatched. She always has a smile on her face and made us feel very welcomed. She also always made sure to ask how our stay was going at the resort. The crepes were made to perfection every single time.
