Francisco did an amazing Tequila and Mezcal tasting at the Travel Club Members Bar on the beach. We learned a lot about respesado tequila, blanco tequila and mezcal. We also made some friends. Esta muey bueno. Muchas Gracias por todo, Francisco.

Jan 16, 2025FAR FROM A FIVE STAR RESORT
Always given wrong room when reservations were made 6 months in advance! This is a reoccurring problem every time visiting. Dirty floors in room, not enough towels on a daily basis. Staff acts like they don't understand what is being said....You have to repeat yourself. It took over an hour to change the battery in the front door to room. Our wrist band did not work to enter our room in 5305.

Jan 14, 2025A bit disappointed in the Grand Palladium White Sands Resort
Our vacation to the Grand Palladium White Sands Resort was an enjoyable experience. Would I go back there, or recommend others go there? No. The Good: We did enjoy the beauty of the Resort, and the cleanliness. The food was also pretty good at the cafeteria restaurant we frequented most. It was easy to get both food and drinks at the restaurants and the bars. The room we had was nice, and it was very clean. There was a good selection of events that could be planned by the event coordinators (I believe they are independent operators, as there were 3 or 4 different companies represented there.) The Bad: Transportation was a negative experience. The resort arranged for a taxi and told us the cost woud be $130. Once at the airport, the driver wanted to charge $230. He settled for $195.00. There were several things we asked repeatedly for and they agreed to, but never delivered. We asked for a light to be fixed in our room, after 8 days it was still out. We were promised a bottle of champage would be brought to our room, never happened, even after asking repeatedly. We were told we could get golf cart rides around the resort by calling. They responded half the time. This is strange, but I think all the female staff were friendly to our family, but the male staff were not so friendly. Would I go back there? No. While there were the positive aspects there, I consider that to be basic. Those should be good, but so should a lot of the other things to bring me back. Nothing special here. The Taxi incident left a lasting impression for sure.

a good spot to kick back
Expansive hotel complex (you can walk everywhere, there are paved pathways and electric carts), a very good selection of buffets and restaurants, great food, great pool and beachfront. Got to spot some local fauna (coatis and various birds), very nice and clean rooms, well sound-proofed. We were welcomed and checked out by Dalia, impeccable service, we received the full rundown of the place and helpful tips and recommendations. We self-organized some excursions and took the colectivos to the Tulum archeological site, some cenotes, Xelha; there is a tunnel to cross the highway, which is otherwise a harrowing experience. We noticed that staff was busy at meal times, to later learn some had worked during the holidays and were taking time off with their families at this quieter time (2nd week of January) - many aren't local and are lodged nearby while working there.

Great time here at White Sands
Here now the hotel is in great condition everything is now open. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough to ensure we are having a great time. We have had no issues getting booked into restaurants thanks to Abraham. The weather is 28 and sunny.
