Will be worth it once construction is completed
Overall, in hindsight, we had a very nice time. The main negative was that we didn't get into the room we paid extra for (Royal Tower ocean front jacuzzi suite) until the 4th night. I assume it was because the construction was still going on and half the rooms in the Royal Tower were not done yet. We got put into a villa on ground floor with a small deck that was completely covered by a huge lounger chair. Once we got into the tower we were very happy. They tried to make it up to us by offering 4 free nights on a future visit. My husband didn't care for the cobblestone walkways and wished they had more golf carts to get a ride. A sports bar was missing and there was only one TV in the lobby bar. Not usuallyan issue but football playoffs were on!! One day my wristband didn't work and I had to have it reset. But room service was good and prompt, all employees were friendly, the layout of resort was nice, not too big. Roof top bar was nice. Shrimp tacos at the seafood lunch area were great. Miguel, our butler went above and beyond, Pool bartenders Gilberto, Cristian, and Hector were great as were lobby bartenders Gabino, Aurelio, and Angel. The beach at this resort is awesome and spacious! We would come back as long as the construction is done, everything is open, and we get the room we paid for for the whole week.

Great location!
This is the second time we have stayed at the Grand Park Royal. The room we had this time was one of the swim up rooms which was fantastic. The service was amazing. The bartenders at the adults only pool bar were awesome. Roberto and Agustin were very friendly and always had our drinks ready for us. Will be returning in January 2026

A wonderful honeymoon
We had a wonderful stay on our honeymoon. We met Aurora when we first arrived. She gave us a tour and answered all of our questions . She made us feel very special. She was there every day to answer our questions and to lead us in the right direction in everything that we wanted to do. It was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back. Aurora made our first trip to Cancun very memorable and we look forward to many more trips in the future.

Excellent Resort
I originally posted this review on the TripAdvisor site for the Villas. I realize that nobody reads those reviews, so I am reposting here. Hopefully, it doesn’t get rejected again. We stayed in the oceanfront master villa for the second year in a row and are already planning our trip for the same resort next year. A vacation at The Villas GPR Cancun is second to none. The location, property and staff are all excellent and I can highly recommend a stay here. The beach is beautiful, the property is also beautiful and getting better with the site improvements. The staff are some of the nicest people you will meet anywhere. Our butler was Yajahira and she was excellent. She communicated with us even before our arrival and always went the extra mile to make sure that we were happy and enjoying our stay. Really the star of the show. In no particular order the following people were always smiling, happy to help and working hard: Gina in reservations, Jaime, Julio and Ivan in the restaurant. Hector, Rusmel, Diana, Karina, Enrique, Yolanda, Damian, Edgar, Alejandra and Alicia. I’m sorry if I missed anyone, but you all were great. We tried all of the specialty restaurants and enjoyed each one. However, the buffet was our favorite. You can always find something good to eat there and the two hostesses were always smiling and friendly. We can’t wait to return next year.

Relaxing getaway - best beach and grounds in the area
Check in process was quick and easy except being with the concierge who tried to provide us with incentives if we went to a meeting to purchase timeshare. We had no interest. Our deluxe ocean view room was beautiful, the room was clean , air con was strong , water pressure and temperature was great. The staff at the hotel were friendly, approachable and all worked so hard. The beach was clean, well taken care of and the chairs and lounge beds were in excellent and clean condition. We jumped waves but not always able to due to high winds and strong waves. The lifeguards were strict about the weather condition and not allowing people to swim in the water. That was fine by us. There were street vendors with goods but when we told them we weren’t interested, they politely walked away. The pools were nice but we didn’t go in. We stayed in the adult section which was quiet with many loungers available. The construction didn’t bother us at all. We ate at these restaurants: Oriental restaurant twice- once was the hibachi and the other, a La carte; Italian twice which had the best tiramisu ever; Mexican/seafood. They were all great food, and wonderful service. We also had Mexican at lunch and ate at the buffet. Again, good food and wonderful service. The gym was clean and the machines worked well. There is also the upstairs bar which opened at 6 pm to watch gorgeous sunsets. The ice cream shop was amazing! Fresh fruit drinks, fruit cups, all types of coffees and teas and of course ice cream and pastries. So good! Overall, we really enjoyed the resort and the people were so nice. We rated a 4/5 because for a resort as such, there wasn’t a hospitality room available for guests who had late pick up. Our shuttle came to get us at 6 pm to take us to the airport, so we had a pretty much full day to enjoy our last day. There wasn’t an area to clean up. We were told by front desk that we can shower in one of the showers by the pool… what??? Idk who would feel comfortable (in their bathing suit) washing hair and body at the pool shower, in a public place with other guests around??? How crazy would that be?!! So in the future, please provide a couple of rooms for your guests- hospitality rooms! We have never been to a resort that didn’t provide a room for guests to showers, clean up etc.
