Amazing holiday - didn’t want to leave
Upon arrival check in flowed and was taken straight to our room which was clean and beautiful. We did have to change rooms due to a ceiling leak but it was handled quickly and efficiently. The pools are provided at such a variety that there’s somewhere for everyone - we particularly liked the quiet pool as you are just surrounded by animals and trees. The beach was also a highlight for us - crystal clear water and so much wildlife and coral. Food was fantastic. We loved the beach grill which had a variety and always tacos on hand! The bbqs they did were amazing too! Different each time from fish to pork to paella - just great options. The a la carte restaurants were great too. We thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese where the food was delicious and the chefs put on a fantastic show. We also tried the Mexican, the casa alma and butchers (Mario was a superstar at the butchers one). The Peruvian wasn’t to our liking but friends we met loved it, so it really is dependent on what you like. Drinks: would have liked a straw with the daiquiris as this made it a little tricky to drink but nothing was going to stop me having it! William at the mixology bar was the star of the show and provided quality and top level service with his drinks. One thing I think could be improved is just to have a list of the different restaurants on the app along with their opening and closing times. Most things are open but sometimes we got it wrong so having that before hand would help ☺️ Thank you for a outstanding holiday Sirenis and I’m sure we will be back in the future 🇲🇽❤️

A Dreamlike Vacation
I'm going to break this review into multiple parts so it doesn't turn into a word wall lol. The staff: First and foremost, the staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful; I've never been to a resort where I feel so welcome! Citlale, Markos, Guadalupe, Elias, Daniel, Johnny, Alma, Barbára, Isabela, Carlos and Felipe were just a few of the people who made our stay so incredible - they were so friendly, attentive and kind, and were more than happy to help teach us some of the language, the culture, and the history of the area. The cuisine: The food is amazing, both with regards to the quality and to the selection available, and the restaurants are diverse enough to have a different and unique dining experience every night! We had Teppanyaki, French, Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, fresh seafood, local pastries - and that's not even including the buffet, which is one of the most well stocked I've ever been to (and the food didn't have that "sitting under a heat lamp" flavour that buffet food tends to have!). The Property: The resort itself is absolutely lovely - the landscaping is meticulous and so beautiful. It's very clear that everything was thoroughly planned out, and the result is a thoughtfully laid out resort that has the feeling of being completely surrounded by jungle, as they've only cleared what they need to and left everything else undisturbed. The wildlife population is thriving; we saw coatis, sereques, monkeys, iguanas, and many other animals that we normally don't get to see! The beaches are serene and well maintained, and one of them is even set up as a conservation area for the natural ecosystems. The pools are crystal clear and there's plenty of room for everyone - we never had to hunt for loungers. And there are plenty of bars and grab-n-go spots for when you're in a snacky mood! The entertainment: The entertainment was actually far better than I'd expected - most of the resorts I've been to, the nightly shows are performed by the staff (who do an excellent job, but it's evident that they're amateur performers). But here, they have hired professional dancers and singers for their program, and the production quality is top notch! Costumes, dancing, singing, choreography - it's all so well done. The location: The resort is actually pretty close to Playa Del Carmen, Xcaret, and a number of other places to visit. There are a ton of archeological sites nearby as well! We visited a tequila factory, a silversmiths, spent a day in Xcaret (absolutely incredible, cannot recommend enough!!!!!), and went shopping in Playa del Carmen where we met a ton of local vendors and got to see them creating their art as we watched 🥰. The Spa: We got to experience hydrotherapy for the first time, and now I finally get what the hype is about! The attendants were so helpful with their explanations on how to use each station and what each one did, and I left feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated. And the massages were absolutely divine! The cons: I'm happy to say this list is pretty short: - We had a minor problem with our air conditioning the first night we were there (they fixed it the next day though), - Parts of the resort were under renovation while we were there, but this is a very minor thing and barely impacted our vacation, I'm only adding it because it meant the elevator was out of commission in our building. - The snorkeling wasn't the best I've had, as the water was somewhat cloudy and the waves were pretty strong, even in the lagoon - however this is likely a seasonal issue, or even just the day we happened to be out there. Overall I absolutely loved every minute there and would happily go back again and again! We hadn't been to Mexico in fifteen years, and this visit reignited the love we have for this place, the people and the culture. 🥰 I highly recommend Grand Sirenis, both for the resort itself and for the wonderful staff who work so hard to make our time there the best it can be!

Oishi Japanese
Oishi restaurant was amazing. Chef Camilo made excellent food. Nicolas and Micheal were great servers. Every part of the meal was delicious. The beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked and the sushi was excellent. So good that we booked in again.

Overall very happy with everything. Could use more garbage cans I a lot of areas especially the beaches.
Needs lighting on stairs at Akam building. Ramon is a great waiter at buffet. Japanese restaurant was great. Salt and pepper on tables would be nice. Food selection at buffet was awesome. Found transportation costs were outrageous stopping us from venturing to other tourist spots. Overall tho very good experience.

Mixed, but negative at the end.
Our stay in the Grande Sirenis was of very mixed thoughts as we went through our 2 weeks stay in early December 2024. I’ll start with some of the more pleasant accounts. The main grounds, including pathways, walkways, horticulture and buildings were, at all times very neat, clean and well kept. Staff was polite and friendly. All staff that were in direct contact with guests spoke either good, or passable English. Al a carte restaurants: Italian was very good, with well seasoned and cooked foods. The French was also very good overall. More on the al a cartes’ later. There were 2 gift type shops on site that had most items that one would need or want. In addition, taking a 5 min walk from the front gate was a small community in which were another good sized souvenir shop, a drug store and a convenience store. This souvenir shop had a very nice selection of goods, and we in fact purchased 5 or 6 items there ourselves. Now the downsides: Rooms: • Beds were rock hard • Patio door was very heavy, hard to move and very noisy as the rollers had probably never been upkept. • Shower drain would always backup, leaving about 2 inches of water sitting there after use. • Rooms were supposed to get 2 packets of coffee daily. On 5 days, we had no coffee left in the room, and it took multiple calls to the front desk and/or housekeeping to get them brought to our room. On one occasion, I had to physically go to the front desk and after about a 30 min wait, was finally brought the coffee. • Clothesline on the deck situated such that if you were hanging things to dry, you could not get to the chairs on the deck. They were blocked, unless you wanted to crawl under it. • Lights were very confusing. For example, the bathroom had 2 switches by the door, and 2 more outside of the toilet room. You turn on the first switch, and a couple lights came on, press it again, and another light came on. Turn on the second, and those lights went off, and one of the others turned on. Turn on a switch by the toilet room, and that room was lit. Turn on the other, and a couple other lights went on. Go back to the first 2 and turn one off, and everything turned off! Grounds, etc: • Site was under major construction, which was never mentioned on any website. This caused great inconvenience when trying to move about. One whole wing was forced to walk about 20 min just to get from their room to anywhere else, as the main pathway was closed. • Beaches were never groomed at all, nor even tidied on a daily basic. Every one had a large area right at shore filled with coral that made it virtually impossible to get into the water. One beach you had to climb a 10’ high steep hill to get back up to the beach chairs. Not possible for someone with mobility issues like myself. • The al a carte restaurants were about halfway between the main building and the beach. 5 restaurants. The closest bathroom? An almost 10 minute walk back to the lobby building! • Lindos restaurant: The Mexican option. I ordered the Pork dinner. What arrived was a serving of about 4 oz of shredded pork in a mild sauce, served in a mixing spoon! No sides, no veg, nothing else. • Mediterranean restaurant: Ordered the Slovaki. They forgot to cook with any seasonings at all, and it was served with only cooked white onion and green pepper. No bread, no rice. A small sider of 2 small pieces of potato and a bit of very woody asparagus. • “House wine” at all al a carte restaurants was a watery, weak poor excuse. The only way to get even a semi decent wine was to spend upwards of 2000 pesos per bottle. Now the biggest detractor to this resort. This company, in its infinite wisdom has decided to severely segregate its guests. At the top of the chain are the members of the ULC – Ultimate Leasure Club. Their rooms had the best views and were also the largest. They had a special beach all to themselves, which was far nicer that the other beaches. There was a constant fleet of shuttle carts zooming around to take these “special people” wherever and when ever they desired. The entire 2 weeks that we were there, not one single shuttle existed to take other guests anywhere on the very large site. We plebes had to walk everywhere, and it was a very large resort. They received special pricing for wines at the al a cartes. I don’t know what else they got. Clearly, this resort has decided its’ special members should be granted every possible consideration, while the rest of the guests were left behind to take the scraps. We will never return to this resort, and will steer any family, friend, or acquaintance away.
