Excellent Stay!
We actually stayed here for 6 days in December 2023. As I was writing my review for my December 2024 trip to a different Caribbean country, I remembered I never wrote my review of Hammock Cove. That should tell you that it was excellent if a year later I still remember how excellent it was. I would return to Hammock Cove every year if it was up to me. The level of service is unmatched! The waterfront villa was beautiful and plenty of space for two of us. We slept each night with the sliding door partially open so that we could feel the breeze and hear the waves at night. The weather was a little too "cool" to get in our plunge pool as I don't think the sun really hit our pool to warm up the water, but that didn't keep us from spending time on our private patio everyday. The food was delicious and the dinner was wow! New menu every night! We also had lobster on the beach! The staff was equally great and very helpful! We got massages while there and again, awesome! I have nothing negative to say about Hammock Cove. I will return!

Not 5 Star
The property, the views, rooms and food are 5 Star. Chef Marco is committed to excellence and demonstrates that not only with the food prepared but managing the process. The location is one of the best I have visited. Sadly that is ALL that I found to be 5 Star. Attention to detail, service, staff I would not rate as 5 Star I will not be coming back. As an example, arrived and the AC in room was not working. Water was dripping all over and had to put towells down. Was told would have to wait until next day because no one was available to fix it, then someone came.

Still in love, but a touch heartbroken
Just returned from my second stay at Hammock Cove. My best friend and I discovered it 3 years ago and I had been DYING to go back and share it with my husband. I left the most positive review EVER after my first trip! This one will be positive, as well, but a few updates. Pros: I continue to love the laid back atmosphere, wonderful food, location, (mostly) friendly staff, the beautiful grounds(!) and the private villas. Shout out to Vandross (our ambassador for several days), who was completely lovely. And Christina in the spa... the most amazing massages!! Book her NOW!!!! All of our food servers in the Lighthouse and the casual restaurant were great, as well as Nigel behind the bar. The resort is so conveniently close to Devil's Bridge. Since it is one of Antigua's "must do" activities that's a big score! We always felt incredibly safe, both on the resort and on the island, in general. We did not go out on the resort's snorkeling boat, but next time we definitely would. We have 3 boys and don't get away much and I NEVER return to the same place twice. So it says a lot that I would not only return to Hammock Cove, but seek it out when I don't have many opportunities for a break! Cons: *Let me preface this by saying these are champagne problems!! I realize how VERY fortunate we are to even have a vacation at a place like HC! For anyone who is a returning guest, these are differences I noticed between my last stay and this one. My FAVORITE thing about HC... is the waterfront villas. Waking up to the view of the water right beyond your toes is absolute magic to me. Add in falling asleep to waves that are so close... and I am the happiest girl on the planet! That said... the villas to the right (40, 41) are closer to the land and the Devils Bridge peninsula. That land cuts into the water view a bit. I stay in villa 39 last time, so IMMEDIATELY upon booking with the business office I requested villa 39 (again) or better yet- 38, 37 or 36... the ones closer to the cove and away from the peninsula. I emailed probably 6-7 times before our arrival to emphasize that request. (*There is no way to contact HC directly. You can only contact their booking agent.) So whether the message didn't get through... it did but someone didn't try to do it.... we ended up in villa 40. Was it beautiful? Yes. But was I extremely disappointed? VERY MUCH YES. We even ended up meeting the folks in those villas and they were first timers, who did not put in a special request. (I asked because I was so disappointed, but of course did not mention anything to them.) This made me wonder about the communication between agent and property. What if someone requested no alcohol in the room... or no fragrances... or who knows what. Even if someone had acknowledged my request I would have felt better. A repeat guest... who communicated a small request that many times.... it should have been an easy one. feel like a brat saying it cast a shadow over our trip, but I was genuinely disappointed after dreaming of the view for 3 years. Moving on... Right out the gate... the woman who welcomed us as we pulled up was not very friendly at all. It's fine! Again, champagne problems! But first impressions... Lunch on the beach took FOREVER, as in an hour to an hour 15 minutes to receive. This was completely fine with me!!! I had zero problems with it! But if you had an excursion or something to get to (my husband had a lot of work calls to take), this could be a problem. Last- and this is SO small- but the drink staff is no longer wading out into the water to deliver drinks to the water hammocks. It's FINE! How spoiled can you be?! But I had just found this such a charming and luxurious touch last time I was there. (Big props to Jayden on the beach staff for doing a great job.) I have recommended HC so many times since my first visit and I would continue to do so. I haven't had any kind of communication from them since our visit asking for feedback, so I'll be curious to see if this gets anything?? Just curious:) I would love to say I'd race back, but the villa thing really threw me. Not sure I'd want to return without the view guarantee. If you're fortunate enough to be considering HC as a vacation, you're already a lucky soul so enjoy!!!

Another great trip to Hammock Cove
This was my third trip to Hammock Cove and my boyfriend's first. We had such an amazing time. The resort itself is so nice - small and quiet. The location right near Devil's bridge is great. The food is amazing. We had dinner at the Lighthouse most nights, but even the last night, with room service, the staff went out of their way to accommodate a food allergy and provide a delicious dinner. What continues to stand out at Hammock Cove is the staff. Such warm and friendly people - looking out to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The ambassadors for our stay, including Vandross, were just terrific checking in on us and making sure we had what we needed. Loved the towel and flower arrangement we came back to one day - so cute and considerate. The staff down at the beach are so nice - one of the gentleman taking us out on the catamaran and going for a swim across the cove with me on our last day. The little kitty who comes around to try to get breakfast out of those staying here was so funny. My boyfriend is already trying to plan a return trip! He loved the food and had so many more things he wanted to try - the new restaurant coming adds to that list! Kept telling all of his friends about his "dream come true" vacation. Only small suggestion is for the swinging chair on the patio - if possible to have a clip or mechanism to secure it - on windy nights it bangs against the wall of the villa. Thank you again for such an enjoyable time.
