some inconsistencies but overall, gold star!

We chose Iberostar because of the travel vlogs we watch - i.e., Coolist, memories, and mojitos - both gave high reviews, and the proximity to the Cancun airport sold us. We stayed at Coral Level. when we arrived, we had a minimal wait for check in- we were so impressed with the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff that the lobby is beautiful and clean. It smells as good as it looks we upgraded to a roof rop terrace - we negotiated a great rate and were not disappointed. what a view!!! we got complimentary hats, sandals, and chocolates. Our bar was stocked with beer, wine ,red and white- and soft drinks the shower in the bathroom is amazing. the entertainment goes above and beyond- Adrian Alex and Beto are phenomenal- they are working the crowd from 9 am til at least 10 pm- the music was catered to all genres- honestly the music by the pool was the best mix I have ever experienced at any all inclusive- and I've stayed at many- the openness and willingness to help make your stay the best ever is 100% evident. the staff are always asking how they can improve - and they listen the only complaint I have (and it's reaching far) are the inconsistencies with the drinks and the food. you never get the same drink twice- which is not a bad thing - but the food at the restaurants is not always consistent with the quality. we ate at the steakhouse and had a great experience - however our friends did not have a good experience the first time but the second was great. same with the Italian - we also ate at the American bistro- which was fantastic - however the signature drink - the old fashioned - was not as it was described on the menu - which again brings us back to the inconsistencies we did eat at the Brazilian night, which was so so- and the seafood gala was quite disappointing- we were a party of 3-and there 2 choices for dining- a la carte Mediterranean or seafood- 2 of us wanted seafood and one wanted Mediterranean- we were initially told we couldn't sit together as we wanted different things- I thought this was crazy. we eventually did get a table together, but the 2 of us that wanted seafood never got a menu-and were given one plate to share - it was all so confusing regardless, the lobby bar is phenomenal - shout out to Irma - these folks work so hard, so please tip them well. the poolbar is also great-Santiago is the best! We would definitely stay here again - they are always trying so hard to improve, and it shows. thanks for the memorable vacation!!!

    Annual Golf vacation

My friends and I, six people total stayed at the coral level from December 29 to January 4 for our annual golf vacation, I’m the only one in the group that doesn’t play golf. The hotel is located 15 to 20 minutes away from the airport. The hotel is very clean and bright and every room has a view of the gorgeous beach. We arrived early in the day so our rooms were not ready, but the check-in process was a breeze. When we arrive, they told us to make reservations for the New Year’s Eve dinner for La Barca which is the only restaurant at the coral side, by the way, food was very good. They served lobsters, snow crabs, oysters, steaks, etc.. and they had a New Year’s Eve party by the convention center that we did not attend . I did not like the fact that they don’t take reservations for restaurants but you can go to guest relations and put your name for the steak house and the Italian restaurant a couple of days before. I have 2 people in our group that are very picky eaters but even they were able to find something that they like, but the exception was the American bistro and the Brazilian night, at the Brazilian night, they seated us towards the back of the restaurant so by the time the meat came to us there was nothing left or it was bloody meat, so I gave the guy a tip and told him to bring me edible meat and he did ,but the food was not that great. Our favorite was the Italian restaurant my friends love the lobster tail, the steaks, salad, the risotto and the pizza. I loved the pork tacos at the Mexican restaurant. We had a small incident one morning at La Barca we went to eat breakfast around 7:10 and we were standing by the omelette station, two ladies were cooking French toast on the griddle and we said good morning and they didn’t respond and they looked annoyed at us, so I told my friends maybe they weren’t ready. We grabbed other stuff from the buffet and went to sit at our table and I ask our waiter in Spanish if the omelette station was not ready yet and he gave me a perplexed look and ask me why, so I told him that we said good morning and we were standing there and they didn’t reply and gave us annoyed looks, he apologized and came back with 2 omelettes for us. That’s the only time that we encounter rude people at this resort because the service was top-notch and I love the people in Mexico. After that morning, we ate breakfast at the buffet by the selection side. I rented a small cabana by the pool for 2 days and it came with a pool concierge, two sun beds a sofa, mini fridge TV and a bathroom and shower they told us the price per day would be around US$120 but when I check my credit card it came out to $107 so all depends on the exchange rate. GOLF, my friends played 2 rounds a day, so they got the 7 days unlimited golf package $529 pp that included transportation, beverages, and food and they really liked the golf course they said that the course was well maintained and the people were very friendly. BE AWARE of crocodiles they are huge. Would I come back to this resort?YES!

    New MINIMUM STAY is STUPID

We loved it..... we want to return.... but now they are imposing a ridiculous minimum night stay!! Some of us can't get 4 or 5 nights off, and just want a 2 or 3 night weekend!!! We have been to this resort 3 TIMES, and these stupid new "minimum stay" rules will drive us away, especially when getting there also requires expensive international flights. DISAPPOINTED

Great getaway but needs more adult only restaurant options

My husband and I spent a week at the Coral level Iberostar Selection Cancún. This adult only section of the property is one hotel building attached to the family resort. We were on the 12th floor and the views were amazing. All rooms have ocean front views. The beach was fantastic! There is one pool in this section and it has lots of activities which means it can be loud. We never had any issue getting a lounger. If there wasn’t one at the pool there was one at the beach. The food was good all around, but I wouldn’t say great. It is important to note there is only one main restaurant in the adult section. It is the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner except one night where it is al la carte. There is also a snack bar by the pool. All other restaurants are in the family section. This was not our preference. We did try out the hydrotherapy at the spa. There were a few things not working and the only thing we really liked was the sauna. Staff were great. Including front desk staff. Fernanda went above and beyond when we had an issue with the shower. It was fixed quickly and she found us to let us know the progress. Saby was serving to us on the loungers and always had a water ready for us in the morning. Valery was part of the entertainment staff and super fun. Jimmy and Louie had us working out hard in the pool. There are people who try to get you to pay thousands to join the “club”. Very timeshare esk and very strong sales tactics. I would not bother participating unless you have money to burn, and can and want to travel to only other Iberostar resorts 4-6 times per year.

The Coral Cancun BIG little hotel with everything close by!

When we return to Mexico once or twice a year, we are always on the lookout for a new place to visit, close to the airport, all inclusive and adults only. Well, Diana and I (Jeff) can tell you that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coral. We look for not only the above aforementioned but also a hotel that is not too big where the walk from the pool to the beach is close and the food is good. Well, Coral has all that with ocean views in a not to big resort with VERY conscientious staff and great service. In particular, our waitress "Saby" went over and above taking care of us as well as the other staff. Our room daily was broom swept with a nice surprise of curtain art and flowers for a nice touch..
