Apr 19, 2025Disappointing surprise
The website lists free parking as part of the amenities. Not true. It cost me almost $42 per day to park. It was never rectified before checking out and I have been billed for this unexpected amount per day of my stay. I would have booked with a different hotel option I had available to me at the time if I had known.

Staff was great; very helpful and welcoming. Hotel location was very convenient. Giving beach towels for guests was great, you can drop the dirty and take clean ones when needed. Room kitchen had all what we need. Valet parking service made it easy not to worry about parking.

The staff was great! All of them went out of their way to meet our requests to the best of their ability. Best recommendation for dinner was from one of the valets. Walking distance to beach, shops & food (highly recommended since parking is a problem everywhere). Things to be aware of: your "Partial Ocean View" may include construction directly below your lanai. No fitted sheets therefore bottom sheet NEVER stayed tucked in.

Not a bad place to stay.
The service was friendly, and had some neat touches (like the betta fish you can borrow for the night, which our kid loved). The location is convenient without being super busy. Our 1BR suite had a decent amount of room, and the kitchen had the basic necessities all accounted for. Our room was a little worn, though. Not shabby, but definitely on the older side, and the carpet in particular needed a refresh. The laundry was only coin-operated and expensive. There were a few touches we would have loved, like an easier way to dry clothes inside the apartment after swimming. But the pool was nice (if a tad small). Overall it was a pretty nice experience, especially for the price.

It's complicated, but certainly a solid choice in a tough city for decently priced accommodations
Stayed for three nights, and there's not much that was "wrong", but it's also what you'd expect a decently priced hotel must be in Waikiki. Pros: -It's a hotel. -It's not exorbitantly priced, especially given its location. -It's less than a 10 minute walk to the (nearest) beach. -It's at the western end of the prime shopping street in Waikiki. -Its valet is fast and seldom busy. -It has a couple of convivence stores nearby. -It has rooms with a kitchenette, including a small fridge and toaster oven. -It has a nice little balcony on the rooms. -The rooms are quiet. -The Staff are friendly and helpful. Cons: -Hawaiian prices---but that's anywhere. -It's aging. -The rooms are a confused mishmash of Disney's Polynesian Resort and a 2008 Interior Designer's brown stone counter dreams. -The shower is sized for an oomph-loompa, with a shower head at about 5' 3" high (they seem to never have heard of a gooseneck). -The floor is tiled, a plus with the sand around, but it's aging, poorly. -The fast valet is $40 a day plus a couple of bucks tax. -The nice little balcony is divided on one side for the next rooms by a metal, perforated panel, and on the other by a space of perhaps 6 feet. -The paint, like the tile, is tired and could use at least some spot touch-ups. -The ceiling is low in the kitchenette and even lower in the bathroom. Conclusion: -Would I stay there again? Absolutely. -Is there a better choice? In this price range, doubtful. -Do I dislike dark brown wood, rattan and pineapple decor? No. -Why is there a carved wooden hippo in the lobby? I have no idea.
