    Great family trip

Our family group of 6 seniors had a great trip. Special thanks to Yenny, Olga, Julio, Charley, and Juan Bernardo for making our trip extra wonderful. The staff are always so friendly and the resort is very clean. In general the food is of good quality as are the drinks.

    Awesome trip

I can’t say enough about our stay at the Majestic Mirage. This is our 3rd time here and the service never disappoints! We have our favorites starting with Lucitania at the Sports Bar. She is always pleasant and tends to our every need and request. Make sure you visit her. Jerry at the Piano Bar is the best bartender. He loves his job and it shows. Omar our butler have us the white glove treatment and checked in with us everyday to make sure our stay was a pleasant one.

AMAZING time at the Majestic Mirage

My husband and I honeymooned here and it was AMAZING! The staff was excellent, everything was super clean, and the food was incredible. We loved our bartenders, Juan, Gustavo, and Victor, that were down by the pool. We also had great service at the seaside restaurant. Olga and Carlos Luis welcomed us and made us feel like we were apart of the majestic family. We could not have had a more perfect honeymoon!

Majestic Mirage Home Away From Home

Was I 3rd trip to the Mirage( went to Majestic Colonial x 2 previously) and it didn't disappoint! Vancentia treated us like VIP we got a Beautiful room, we always feel so well taken care of by her. She is a very special person to us, we feel she really cares. This was our 3rd time having Isidro as our butler he did a great job, even special touches like a cheese plate with a bottle of wine, last day he surprised us with macaroons! Aurtero took care of us the first day as Isidro was off, he came everyday to say Hi to us! Each day we had lunch at the sports bar, Lucitania took care of us like family, she is the most dedicated hard working person we have ever met! She truly wants you to be well taken care of! Carlos the bar tender at sports bar made the BEST rum punch(I am fussy) . Jonathan,Renso, Gerlain and Rachell were top notch at Italian and Steakhouse! Davies at French was so sweet and funny1 Neomi is everyone's favorite plus she gives the best hugs!; Tahani make an excellent martini. Olga at steakhouse is very sweet! Maria at the coffee shop is always smiling and does coffee art on the cappuccino. Super Nelson and Donato were amazing and were always checking if you needed a drink. The only restaurant that really needs to make some BIG changes is the Italian at supper time(breakfast is good there) the Menu is good just REPLACE THE CHEF! I am not a fussy person but the food there is really bad! The BEST thing about this hotel is the staff: from the gardeners, housekeeping, maintenance ,Butlers and servers everywhere. We did not once meet anyone who was rude or not willing to smile. No one ever says NO! We are returning to the Mirage Feb,20th-27th 2025 to escape Montreal winter and it is like coming back home to Family!

A wonderful resort in a wonderful location

Our stay in late December 2024 with family was lovely. A few key staff members really made our stay. Our butler, Griel "Wah" was the star of the show. He was charming and tireless in communicating and coordinating dining and events not just for my wife and I, but our whole family of 10 staying in three different rooms. I honestly cannot overstate how much of a positive impact he made on our stay. If you're lucky enough to have Wah as your room contact, you've won the resort lottery. Kenny and Carlos also really made us feel at home and kept the fun and dancing flowing. The ladies at the coffee shop were always patient and kind and added personal touches that were wonderful. Cesar was a wonderful bartender. Jerry, the bartender at the piano bar was really next level. He was incredibly warm and personable and a true craftsman with the cocktails. He helped make our night during our couple evenings spent there. These wonderful people and many more friendly staff made our trip! The property and architecture are, on the whole, stunning. The resort is well laid out. The pools and swim-up bars are lovely and clean. The adult-only pools were a peaceful touch. The poolside staff are attentive and frequent in passes to refill and clear drinks. The beach is beautiful. The entertainment was lively, professional, and creative. Tables in the main theater could be hard to come by once the evening shows started, but otherwise, the resort never really felt crowded. The food was better than average for an all-inclusive, in my opinion, but don't get your hopes too high. Like all of the other all-inclusive resorts we have experienced, the food looks better than it tastes. Meats were often way overcooked. Food generally tasted a little bland. There was always a solid variety of food available, though. There was a super buffet on Christmas Eve that was truly incredible in visual presentation and variety; a desert section to make children and adults alike feel like they were in a fairytale. The wait staff were attentive, patient, and kind. I can't recall the name of the waiter at the steak house, but he was particularly personable too. The drinks were not watered down, as at some all-inclusive resorts. The bar staff were generally great with some stand-outs noted above. Unfortunately, there are some areas where maintenance has fallen a little behind. There was buildup in some of the corners in the bathroom and shower. The interior handle of the door to the service closet in our room was missing. There was a leak in the ceiling of our room that required sometimes multiple towel changes daily on a couple places on the floor to contain the puddles. There were places around the resort that were in need of cleaning or paint. The plug on the lamp of my mother-in-law's sky lounge corroded apart in the salt air, and shocked my brother-in-law while plugging it in one night. The wine cooler in our room did not work. The hot water was out resort-wide on the first morning of our visit. -All relatively minor issues, but did give a subtle impression that the resort may be resting a little too easy on it's five star designation or be facing financial or staffing challenges. Our concerns about the leaks in the roof were responded to, although, with the leak resulting from a fault in the waterproofing of the sky deck, there was little that could be done other than dropping off additional towels to change daily and scraping peeling paint and repainting when the drips slowed. Our outstanding butler, Wah, took the liberty of negotiating a credit on our room as a result of the leak, though, which was very much appreciated. The hot water was restored within a few hours. All these small nit-picks were minor in comparison to the stand-out members of the staff. Resort management would show wisdom by noting that fact and being diligent in making sure their super stars are well taken care of. Check in and out were not very smooth for our family. The rooms that were booked were not initially honored upon check in. My brother-in-law, who booked the resort for the whole family booked a specific room for each of the groups within our family that best met the needs of those with children. Upon checking in, the staff asserted that the room booked for his family of three could not be provided. It took resolve, and a lot of patience after a long day of travel to eventually convince the check in staff to honor his reserved room type the next day. It was not the most pleasant introduction to the resort. It necessitated an even later night for my brother's family, as there was a very slow response from the on-duty staff to bring up a cot for their 4 year old son that first night, since the room provided had no sleeping place for their son. Thankfully, the room layout they initially booked (that had a suite room and bed) was made available the next afternoon. We booked our stay through Costco Travel. Here's a bit about that experience: My wife and I were surprised upon checking out that the room credit promised by Costco Travel, through whom we booked, would not be honored. We provided all information and reservation documentation about the promised room credit, but were told that since it did not appear on the computer screen of the staff member checking us out, that there was nothing that could be done. She communicated no intention to investigate the matter further. We were told that we would need to follow up with Costco Travel for that reimbursement. I'm not sure if the ball was dropped by the resort or Costco Travel, but chasing that down with Costco Travel is now, unfortunately, on our to-do list. There was a Costco Travel agent that had a desk at the resort, but the couple times we stopped by (between noon and 1:30pm) to arrange airport shuttle times and check in about the missing room credit, she had left early for the day. The sum total of our ten person family also did not appreciate the unnecessarily early phone calls (between 7:30 and 8:00am) from Costco Travel waking everyone up our first morning after a very long day of travel to book airport return shuttles seven days later. I would suggest a revisitation of that approach and a late morning or afternoon call, even if a message needed to be left on the room phone. A tip for others not wishing to be woken up early would be to unplug the room phone when you arrive and simply stop by the agent's booth sometime in the morning of the first couple days of your stay and maybe verify early on in your stay that credits promised by Costco Travel were recorded and would be honored by the resort. All told, while the gripes section of this review occupies more lines than the raves, this was indeed a wonderful vacation destination for our family that was a stand-out value compared to other all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. I would happily return and encourage others considering booking travel to the Majestic Mirage Punta Cana to book with confidence!
