  Awesome place to stay but plan ahead for food alternatives

  Beautiful relaxing resort with comfortable rooms and a great pool and beach. Perfect for relaxing. It’s a distance from San Juan and the airport so you need to rely on the on-site food however food and restaurants are inaccessible and overpriced so you’ll need a plan for meals. Example, one option for breakfast is full buffet approx $40 pp. Lunch is the coffee shop, pool or room service, maybe tappas in the lobby bar, dinner at the sports bar is burgers and has a limited menu. Very small higher end restaurants for dinner but tough to get in. One restaurant called Nectar has a nasty sign on the door to greet diners. The entire food game is not up to Hyatt standards.

  Oceanside Resort

  Very clean and beautiful resort. Beach and pools are great! Service and care are perfect. Only be prepared for a bit too expensive food and cocktails. Beer and Wine are just right. Would improve on concierge service on tour bookings. Overall excellent stay, would recommend.

  Cannot Wait to Return!

  We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico! Jailenne Méndez was amazing and made sure that our son’s first birthday was perfect! Poolside fruit then balloons and birthday cake delivered to our room was a fun surprise that made his big day very special. We all can’t wait to go back!

  Best day in Puerto Rico

  Wunyerly was amazing!!! Best hostess ever. We had the best day with her at the pool. She was attentive and kind and offered all sorts of advice. She had the whole pool to cover but we never felt neglected. She had knowlege of the island even tho is from Venezuela.

  Prepare to wait almost 1 1/2 hour in the checking, be on top of the reservation yourself and ask every single detail

  What an absolute disaster of a stay. The Hyatt flag to big for this place Don’t even know where to begin with this nightmare of a hotel experience. From the moment I walked in, everything was wrong. First off, the check-in process was a disaster. The front desk staff has like 100 steps to finish a check in, and I had to wait over 55 minutes, plus the wait in the line more than 40 minutes. When I finally got my key, It was 6 PM, and check-in was supposed to be at 4 PM. We ask to extend our stay for one more day, for 5 people (which was confirmed at the front desk), but when we arrived to the room, the room was 1 king they told us they didn’t have the room we reserved and tried to give us a king bed for all five of us!, so I call to get a rollaway bed, housekeeping told me we have to call security to check, because the fire department and ……., that we don’t need to know, just another way to don’t accept responsibility. 7:30 = I call again the said “ we don’t have rollaway bed”. I said that not what you say the first time. answer “ well we don’t have, I can’t do anything for you” 8:30 = I proceed to call front desk: When I call they say “ I have in my notes: we tell you we don’t have 2 doble beds” that was a big lie!!! a. First why you give me a room that does not fit 5 people? b. Second why you don’t tell me we don’t have a room to extend your stay, that will save all this disaster. c. Third when I ask for to extend to another night they ask me you want to stay in the same room, I said, “do you have something less pricy, they said “Yes”. So if you offer me to stay in the same room means you have rooms, I ask for something more cheaper if you don’t have that’s fine, I could stay in that same one, but no, you just gave me, the first you see without seen how’s the room. d. After talking with several people and manager they said you can stay, or you can leave. I answer, “so if I stay you are ok that 3 people sleep in the floor?” she answer “well sir you have to do what you have to do” if the floor is ok well. This is a huge failure on their part, and completely ruined our trip. We had to scramble to find another place to stay, and it was an awful experience all around. We ended up leaving and demanding a refund. Avoid this hotel if you have a reservation for a group! They clearly don’t have their act together and won’t honor what you book.
