Go to different hotel...
We got room in hotel El Faro for 4 days from Lufthansa, as out flight was cancelled. When I looked on the reviews 4.5 it looked fantastic (before we were staying in Hilton La Romana for 2 weeks - similar price range to elfaro) We got family room close to ocean with nice view. Room was really old and smelly - constant smell of mould. Bags and clothes after 4 days got that smell. Quality of pool water was just terrible - greasy cover floating towards one of the sides of the pool. Food was OK but.... Strange smell in buffet restaurant (after few minutes you were getting used to) Mexican restaurant was OK Day no 2 we were collected from our room to show us hotel etc Real purpose was different... Myself and my wife have been forced to listen about H10 hotels for 2-3 hours and great deals if we sign up membership with them. I'm not recommending el faro hotel. Majestic Elegance or Hilton La Romana would be much better choice

Amazing resort don’t miss out!
This place was an absolute paradise. From the moment I entered the resort and everything in between I truly enjoyed my stay here. My and my fiance will definitely come back. My Butler Luis was attentive and made me feel like royalty to say the least. All the activities were so entertaining and the food was plentiful and diverse. My favorite thing had to be the cats and dogs frolicking aroin and how they were so friendly. I came here to propose to my now fiancé and through Felix’s services he made an absolute dream come true. The attention to detail was second to none. I really recommend this to anyone who needs to disconnect and enjoy life as it should be enjoyed. Thank you to all the staff, everyone was very respectful professional.

Older adults vacation
Traveled: January 2025, did not upgrade, just regular customers. Booked: Jetblue Vacations, El Beso, Ocean El Faro, transfers included. Who: 2 adults, over 65 Transfer process: excellent thru Jetblue and Best Day Check in: easy, drinks at time of check in, don't sign up for free breakfast, they are selling you a timeshare/ travel club. Room: Junior Suite, king size bed, Great Big room, Beautiful balcony, room smells musty but I believe that's throughout the entire Resort. Bring air freshener or candle. Bathroom: Double shower was great. Pools: adults only, fantastic, very clean, but you only get one towel per person with a towel card. Our towels were fresh out of the dryer. Kept them every night. Bars: bars and drinks everywhere. They makes very strong drinks. Maid services: find her in the morning and tip her, she will come to your room first. She did a great job. In room drinks/frig: find him on day one, tip him and he'll always make sure you have water, Cokes and beer in your fridge. Food: reservations for specialty restaurants. Food was better at specialty restaurants than in the regular a la carte. Overall food was average. Specialty restaurants: download their app and you can make reservations. I was able to make reservations before the time that they said reservations were available so it was really easy. Beaches: their Beach is beautiful. However they have a lot of rocks as you enter the water. We do not like to swim in the ocean so just sitting there was perfect. Entertainment: every night their Main Street was alive. Bingo, dancing for the kids, musicians. Overall very good. Staff: remember they make $9 a day so tipping is appreciated. Everyone works hard. There were tons of people always around trying to make the place beautiful. Last thoughts: try for speciality restaurants earlier than 8 am. Don't go to welcome breakfast. Tip early for best service. Remember airfresheners.

Fabulous holiday!!
Currently writing this from the sun lounger on my last day of a 14 day holiday. The resort itself is immaculate and everywhere is cleaned 24/7 it seemed. Bedroom: There was a damp smell to the room but due to the humid climate this was to be expected and from my experience in these climates this is normal. The aircon is the best aircon I have experienced in a hotel. The mini fridge was restocked every day and we had 5 waters and 3 fizzy drinks replenished every day which is exceptional. The beer is also restocked daily. Food: we went to the Sakura x2 and both times food was delicious and the chefs shows were fun to watch and very engaging. We visited to steak house x2. The first visit was again amazing (my favourite meal here). The second time we only managed to get a 21;00 reservation and unfortunately they didn’t have the steak and sides we wanted as they had ran out?! The main buffet was good, with lots of variety. However the breakfast was a favourite for us with the make your own smoothies and omelettes! Burgers at the snack bar were good although they only do burgers and hotdogs it could have been better if there was a variety of food on rotation. Pools: we went to the daisy pool as we enjoyed the music throughout the day. Although we did not play any of the animation teams games they looked simple and fun and also had prizes of coffee or rum. The lazy river was also a hit with us we didn’t bring our own floats and never struggled to get a float, on the busier days the lifeguard would make sure those that had been on there for a period of time would share the floats around. Beach: we are not big beach people but the beach was great for us and if you walked left on the beach it brought you out at a beautiful lagoon with white sand. A huge shout out to CRISEL at the daisy pool bar. Her waitress service and personality was 10/10 she 100% made our holiday so special. In regards to tipping - we are British so we do not have this tipping nature, however we did tip those staff who went above and beyond for us. Privilege / adults only: we are a couple with no children. We did not feel like we missed out without being privilege or that we weren’t in the adults only section. Tips: bring mosquito spray me and my parter got a lot of bites (potentially from the beach at sunrise). Also bring your own snacks 2 bags of family crisps (chips) were $20!!!! Overall a fabulous holiday and we will be going to more ocean hotels in the future!!

Good Vacation
There are some amazing staff at this resort in El Beso bar Oliver and Santino were very friendly & welcoming, made us feel at home. We also enjoyed the beach bar where Dauris and Zoraida ( I am not sure spelled correctly) were so friendly and pleasant. I have already made comment on the restaurant staff at Pez Dama... We went many nights & the food & service was always exceptional. The ice cream shop is so amazing & the Mike's coffee is such a lovely find on a resort. All in all it was a great time.
