  Fantastic resort

  Arrived a little later than was expected, but did arrive and greeted by loving and funny Fernanda, she checked us in quickly as well as we got some fresh fruit juice as we got checked in. Stayed here during Xmas holidays with the family, it's one of the best resorts I have stayed in Mexico. The location is great and close to Playa Del Carmen center. I love the hotel rooms, they are setup like townhouses which gives it that home feeling while staying here. The beach is away from the resort which isn't a big issue as there is a bus that heads there every 20 minutes and brings you back as well. The beach house has it's own pool, restaurant as well as bar. Buffet at the resort is awesome, so much fresh variety, every day there is something different. I don't understand why people complain about food, lots of variety here as well as fresh, just because you don't see your regular meals here doesn't mean the food isn't great, you are in Mexico, therefore the food will be Mexican food not European, although they do have pasta section which I didn't use as well as pizzas. Not a single family member got sick from food like some say, quick tip, clean your hands before eating, trust me it helps :). La Carte Restaurants are great as well with Mexican being on the premises and steak house being in RIU Tequila. Staff are excellent, and attentive, we as vacationers need to understand how hard these people work for such little money and if you don't get served fast, remember that they are covering a big area where they have tend to everyone's need, they will definitely come and serve you when time permits. I saw some rude vacationers being rude to staff for no reason :(. These people work way more than they get paid. One of the recommendations I would give the management to get yourself a DJ and play some loud Latin music all day long by the pool to get everyone involved, I am in Mexico therefore please play regatton, haha. Of course there is music, but would have loved to hear loud music as well as a DJ who will get crowd's blood pumping. The shows were awesome, the Xmas dinner was amazing and the Mexican Folk night show was fantastic. We even witnessed some wildlife which was unexpected to be honest, lots of deer as well other small animals. lots of activities here for kids as well as adults, there is even an 18 hole golf course right next to the resort for those who like to golf, plus shops within walking distance. Thanks to all Lupita staff, will definitely come back. Ps. those who complain about condensation in their balcony windows, please note you are in a very humid environment, the resort is literally in the jungle, this is very normal, nothing unusual. Also those who complain about their rooms having insects, those insects are very common in these places, nothing unusual here as well, entrance doors have a gab between floor and door which allows tiny insects get in, the rooms gets cleaned daily by staff and they are exceptional to be honest.

  Overall fabulous.. with a few issues

  The resort itself is beautiful and the staff are fabulous! However, the mattresses are terribly hard and uncomfortable to sleep. We did not have blankets for all 3 beds when we checked in. As well the patio screen door was torn so we could not enjoy having the door open as the animals kept trying to come in through the hole.

  Riu Lupita vacation

  Great vacation. Best New Year's eve party and excellent food. Was there from January 31st to December 6th. Everything was wonderful. New Year's eve party and decorations were fabulous.

  Unforgettable Vacation

  We had a memorable time at the hotel. The food was fresh and delicious and the staff were very hospitable. The rooms are cosy and neat. The hotel surrounding is clean and well-maintained. I love the vibes of the hotel. The pool parties, New Year and Riu parties were thrilling and full of ambiance. I also found the shows including the children’s shows exciting and interesting . The only downside I observed was that the kid’s daily program at RIULAND never operated. I visited and checked the opening hours at the park but never witnessed any activity happening there. I only saw kids performing randomly during the evening shows. I would obviously book a RIU hotel for my future vacations. I loved our stay at the hotel and would recommend a RIU hotel to any traveller. 🥳

  Riu Lupita Above and Beyond

  This is y second visit to Riu Lupita and have to say it did not disappoint. Using the Riu app which you can make requests so I asked if it would be possible to have the same bungalow as my last visit and sure enough they did. I like everything about Riu Lupita because it is on 1 level which because of my bad knees is perfect. Every member of staff has a smile for you from the grounds people to the reception staff. My room was cleaned daily to a very high standard as is every part of the resort from the grounds to the bar area especially if there has been rain. The restaurant's are very clean and the main dining room as a multitude of different foods to satisfy the most picky of eaters. The Mexican and Italian restaurants are both very go if you fancy a change from the main dining room. I was there for Christmas this visit and I have to say everyone associated with the resort went above and beyond, the grounds where decorated with Christmas lights and it looked absolutely amazing and the Christmas Eve (Nochebuena) evening meal was absolutely stunning and breath taking, every table had a beautiful red tablecloth and decorated with candles, all the staff where dressed in black uniforms and the food on offer was WOW. Everybody and I mean everybody pulled out all the stops including the guests who all dressed accordingly. I haven't got round to the entertainment staff who worked tirelessly day and night to entertain the guests and also the guest artist that where there to, Thank You.. The resort isn't near the beach but there are coaches that run every half hour and there is also the famous 5th Avenue in Playa Del Carmer with its many restaurants and bars, if you ask the driver for the stop before the beach and walk through the security gates you are at the beginning of 5th. Taxis are cheap to take you back to the Lupita. All in all a magnificent holiday and I have to say this was my best Christmas in a very long time so Thank you Riu Lupita to all the staff and I will see you again in May 20254
