Thank you to the amazing staff at riu. Special mention to Harrian and Toni Kay for the easy check in process and assisting with large family needs. Also to the servers who set up tables for my mom’s birthday much love.

Apr 24, 2025Staff entering room without consent, cold food in all restaurants
1 star more accurate, didn't appreciate staff walking into room without knocking 1st , especially when we were naked from shower. I'm pretty sure personal stuff went missing. Food anywhere was barely warm, If you want Ala Carte, get on the app just after midnight. Steakhouse was horrible as asked for steak to be blue and came out well done ( went 2 times) , Luigis not great either. Kullinarium was beautiful for a Blue/Rare steak. Tip is double lock your room when your in it, and keep anything important in your safe. Gorgeous place, But some staff could do with manners. Will definitely go back to Jamaica.... but not here.

Apr 23, 2025A good resorts at a good location
We picked this location as it is at the best diving location in Jamaica. We had been staying at Iberostar in Mexico, Cozumel and Dominican the past couple of years and I would say this resort is comparable. Check in was quick and easy, however we were a family of 4 with two adult children (girl and boy) and they gave us two rooms with king size beds. There was no way to request that in advance. We asked one room to have separate beds but they said they did not have one available and might have one the next day. The next day they said to get a room with separate beds we had to move one room to another part of the resort. So we stayed in the given rooms, girls in one and boys in the other. We also had issues with no working AC in one room for the first 2 days and no AC in both rooms the last night. We had one night with no hot water. When we called for these issues they sent someone quickly. Other than that the rooms were clean and looked to be recently updated. We saw no bugs as others reported. The beds were comfortable. Something I had not seen before is the minibar included liquor for those that like mixed drinks. The resort is on the small side and not very deep, so very easy to get around from beach to pool to restaurants. The beach was excellent with calm waters and a bunch of sea life you can see easy. There were always plenty of chairs at the beach and the pools but there were still people that would put towels on chairs at breakfast. Just can't seem to get away from those types of guests. There were local vendors that sometimes walked the beach and had shops next door, but a simple no thank you and they move on. The buffet was similar to what you find at most resorts. A lot of variety, but not much changed day to day. The al-la carte restaurants had both the type you can walk up to and the type you had to reserve. I liked them all as I always had sea food and it was good. The rest of my family are meat eaters and they said most were just OK, but all of us really liked Luigi's. That was also the hardest to reserve. (tip do it first thing in the AM of if night owl after midnight) The bars were really easy to get drinks, I saw comments that you had to tip or they ignored you. That was not our experience, they were always happy to get you a drink with or without a tip. Service at the a-la-cartes was good. They buffet was hit and miss. The dive center was great with a low volume of divers on the boat and diving was close. The reef was very nice but the fish life was sparce compared to other places we have been. All in all we would recommend a stay here and may be back here again.

Great family trip
Absolutely enjoyed the stay with friends from different countries and places. Property was freshly refurbished and beautiful staff were friendly and helpful especially Lennox the bell cap

Riu negril
I have been coming here for the past 5 years and the service is topnotch love the front desk personnel shanae is NY girl love her she is one of the main reason my wife and family contact bk and also Tracey the waitress
