Girls trip 2025
Just got back from a lovely 5 day girls vacation with my 4 bff sisters Things you should know … Rooms are beautiful ( we had a swim out) and we did use and it was amazing enjoyed having this option .. but we also wanted time at the beach & pool . Room very clean and housekeeping gave us new towels & picked up room daily . There is shampoo conditioner &!shower gel in shower There is hand soap & body lotion above sinks. If going with girls and are a bath person .. there is no private bath it’s right next to the bed. See pic.. separate toilet area but shower area was kinda open . Just an fyi .. it’s a open area floor plan The mini bar in room was great, plus the fridge had Pepsi Diet Pepsi 7-up & Canada Dry … beer & water No snacks like chips/pretzels/candy No welcome package other have had have a small bottle of tequila and a care basket I have a shellfish allergy and they were very accommodating and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from .. no reservations are taken . We ate at the steakhouse ( steak was good but no good steak knife to cut with ) … Italian was good no complaints.. Mexican was good . The specialties only have about 6 choices on menu and then they have a specialty buffet . The dinner buffet had a nice selection of items . Only thing was some items got lukewarm and did not taste as good if fresher ex. Pizza The main buffet was the only place we ate for breakfast- I believe the only place to eat breakfast that we were aware of .. good selection but sometimes food got lukewarm Lunches we at Pepe’s by the pool we did not search out for other places it was convenient - they had hamburgers ( better than buffet), hotdogs, chili cheese fries or nachos all sorts of toppings, chicken shrimp fish rice The Guacamole was outstanding at anyplace we at . I was surprised to see orange nacho cheese vs white queso sauce Overall good was good and had something for everyone. The pools was amazing and the servers were good . Depending on how strong you liked your drinks - they were made weak but you needed to let them you wanted stronger . I always added 2-3 shots extra then it was more to my liking . Everyone has their own liking . This was throughout the resort- not a complaint at all everyone as their own taste. The beach was amazing. We walked it and enjoyed the sand. There was some seaweed in the gulf but not bad. After all it is a body of water and it grows there. I had heard about the 💩 on/in from manatees . We did see a few on sand -nothing in water . It looked liked dog 💩 but can totally see manatee vs human . Entertainment.. our group is in our 50’s and woukd have liked more choices . The pool entertainment should be at all pools - the pools get crowded so you don’t want to give up your spot. On Tuesday & Wednesday we were at pool from 11-3ish both days and nothing during day .. we came back from beach Wednesday and there was a name that tune game at the pool.. we would have loved to play this but no advertising for this I guess on ap but internet can be spotty and you can’t look up . I would recommend some signs at pool area giving times of games .. plus more games like name that tune or trivia at the adult swim up during day the daytime. Ex. Name that tune 12:30-1:30. 2:30-3:30 trivia … I think having it more than 1 pool would be helpful . I did do the Latin dancing which I found by accident.. that was fun . On the ap it doesn’t clearly state what the activity is so you dont know if you would like to attend . Just a suggestion for down the road … Evening entertainment.. this was mostly in the theater .. we went Sunday nite .. none was on Monday … Tuesday we hung in the square bar/coffee area - seemed like the hangout between the hours of 7-10 pm Wednesday was the neon party at dunnibar - kid friendly only stayed for avout 30 or so minutes was expecting more dance music and dancing and no one was dancing. Maybe later it picked up . So we checked out the sports bar … not much going on here so we headed back … the disco started at 11:00 which is great for the 20,30,40 year olds .. but us 50 yr olds like something earlier. The resort is huge and I would recommend some more entertainment in the evening a little something for different age groups. The sports bar & square garden could have trivia or name that tune at 8:00 or 8:30 .. maybe not every day but like Monday & Wednesday… same with Latin dancing in theater prior to entertainment.. most people eat at 6 and then entertainment about 7:30/8:00 . Just a suggestion. The other thing we found that restrooms should be closer to restaurants. Again just an observation. We did 1 excursion to Isla Murjeres by boat -snorkeling was offered and there was an open bar . Bag lunch .. they shuttled from resort to marina and back . Was a nice way to do a bit of snorkeling and see the island . We really wanted a trip to Cancun so we could shop and look around - they did not have anything like that, that was offered thru resort vs attempting to find our own transportation. That was not an option . I would recommend putting one of these together. They did offer a complimentary trip for tequila tasting & shopping at playa del Carmen but we did that the last time we were here. Overall we had a great girls trip with lots of memories to share for yrs to come . We had fun, relaxation & enjoyed our visit. Here are some pics

Very happy
We recently returned from a week at this resort. Overall it was excellent. Food was really good, the staff were lovely and super attentive, and the place is just spotless. I don't really drink, so I can't comment on the beverages. The gym is great, and the paint studio for painting classes was amazing. I did that twice with my son. And we loved the cafe. It was so nice to be able to grab a latte and a snack during the afternoon, and spend the evenings in there playing cards, listening to live music and having an after dinner coffee (or drink if you choose). The beach was really nice. It was super windy most days on our trip, so the waves were large, but it was a lot of fun. My husband and son mostly preferred the beach volleyball at the court next door at Dunamar but you have access to that as a Palace guest. Riu should consider creating a similar sheltered volleyball court at Palace, away from the wind. The only real negative was that our room had 2 beds (as requested) but they were small. Double beds instead of queen sized. That was a bit tough for us. Our room was a basic "garden-view" room, but was actually a room with a view of the loading dock of the sister resort. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say.

Really enjoyed Riu CostaMujeres
Food was better than most i've had. Feeling that it was not jammed packed. Tons of chairs on the beach. Great service and no attitude from employees. Great variety of pools. Teenagers liked the amenities. Beach was powdery sand.. NO SEAWEED! Highly recommend

Incredible resort!
Everything at this resort was top notch! The food was amazing, the beach was spectacular and the service was incredible! The fact that the weather was perfect made it even better! I want to give an extra shout out to all staff members…particularly the guys working the Mezcal Pool Bar! You work incredibly hard and deserve to be recognized for your dedication to making the guests happy. Well done!
