Mexican Vacation
We have stayed at RIU’s before and like the standards they keep. The staff was efficient, friendly and available. The rooms were large and clean. Extra pillows and blankets available. The mattress was quite firm, but didn’t seem to disturb my sleep. The hot water was fast and plentiful. We never ran out no matter what time we washed up. Only a large shower, no tub in our bathroom. We never had trouble getting into an a la carte restaurant, but we did notice that if you wanted to eat at 7pm, they were busier. So just go at 6:30 and you will get seated right away. Lots of chairs around the pool and on the beach. Except on the weekend, where the towel game, is in full force! During the week there are always empty seats available. The beach is large and clean. You can walk quite a ways out before it gets deep. Walking on the sand at low tide is like walking on a memory foam sidewalk! There are a few peddlers on the beach, but not many, and they were all very polite, and not at all pushy. Bucerias is a 30-45 minute walk, the grocery store is about a 30 minute walk, and the market at Riviera Nayarit is about 45 minute walk. There are new large sidewalks to use, to keep you safely away from traffic. Bucerias has lots of great bars and restaurants, we never actually made it to Puerto Vallarta. There is a bike rental shop about a 10 minute walk, but we ran out of time. We did see a lot of people on the path using rental bikes. The bartenders all serve a wide variety of drinks. Unlike some resorts where you never know what you might get (I once got rum and coke, when I asked for a Tom Collins), here you get what you ask for! The Sports Bar is always well stocked with snacks, if you haven’t eaten in a few hours, or your flight gets in late! If you have a late departure, they have a holding area for your bags. You check out as usual at 11:00 am, but you have full access to the resort until you need to leave. You also have access to complimentary change and shower rooms to clean up before you head to the airport.

A very relaxing and enjoyable experience
I just spent a week at the Riu Vallarta with my sister, enjoying a warm sunny midwinter getaway. My first time in Mexico and also my first experience of an all inclusive. I enjoyed it very much. Our room was very clean, and well taken care of by housekeeping. The rest of the facilities were also clean, and staff were clearly working constantly to keep it that way. The 4 pools were great, and the swim up bar was fun. I had a blast doing the water fit too! Lots of lounge chairs, and I completely understand the policy of one towel per person per day - it didn’t bother me at all. All the people working here were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was good - I think it was very good quality for feeding lots and lots of guests I especially appreciated the fresh fruit!! I enjoyed trying lots of different cocktails this week, and the entertainment during the day and at night was good fun and perfect for a family oriented resort. It is noisy, our room overlooked the courtyard but that’s to be expected at this kind of fun and family oriented place. Things got quiet at 11:30-12:00. A nice introduction to Mexico and Rui Vallarta. Thank you for a great vacation!

Pleasantly Surprised with RIU Vallarta
My family had a great time. Food was great and shows in the evening were very professional. Will go again sometime. Only thing I would improve would be the Dinner reservations at the ala carte restaurants

Best Week Spent at RIU Vallarta
Home from a wonderful wedding week where almost 100 guests stayed at the RIU Vallarta. I absolutely loved our stay here & it was exactly what I was looking for with respect to size and quality (this place is massive). The food, service, and activities were fantastic. I found the beds comfortable- I even slept on a pullout couch one night and was fine. I was very impressed with how nice the basic level rooms were. A couple guests didn’t like their room and they were re-roomed to new areas of hotel without issue. Also the coffee in the room was fantastic - we all raved about it. I read some reviews about elevator problems, we personally had 0 issues with elevators. We had a couple guests with young children stay at the RIU Jalisco - the walk was 1 min on the beach. I think this was a good choice for families with younger children, but I think the RIU Vallarta was more adult friendly and was personally happy that most of us were here. Hope to be back one day. Also we were here for the NYE 2025 party and it was amazing- the buffet, the decor, the fireworks. Hope to see that again one year.
