You've Been Warned!!
All the negative reviews are completely accurate. I have been to many resorts along the Mexican coast and this was the worst. You go to an all-inclusive for the food. The food here is mostly bad, of course with some exceptions. We tried to book dinner reservations the first day and could only get 7:00-8:00 PM after I sat there and demanded it. And no, don't use the app. It doesn't work and is not accurate. You only get to use the mediocre buffet for every meal. The beautiful picture of the restaurant overlooking the ocean is only for the special member guests. No outside eating anywhere by the pool for the peons. We booked directly so had an "exception" for us to eat there, but the lovely Inka treats you like you're trying to pull something over on her. Eyeballing, gesturing, just nasty. Room service. Forget it. They don't answer the phone and it takes hours to get the lousy food and/or water. We called front desk, concierge and room service. NO ONE answers. You go downstairs and there's literally four people at each place, they just ignore the phone. I could go on, but you get the point. Very slippery around pool and in spa. Beware. And pounding music ALL day, no breaks, that can even be heard up in your rooms, the pounding. No escape. Don't book here!

Pool side cocktails for the WIN!!!
The pool side servers are amazing. We were resting and they took care of our food and drink needs without us even having to ask. Shout out to Rogelio at the Royal Elite Pool kiosk who recommended a delicious espresso cocktail. It was the right after meal drink and he’s the expert that we needed!

Love Sando's Cancun in the Mexican Carribean!
The pools and entertainment are warm. Food is tasty mix of traditional Mexican & American. The beach and staff are welcoming & accommodate us with every visit to the Mexican Carribean. Special thanks to Jessica for taking care of our needs with our room!

No way is this a five-star resort
I was extremely disappointed! I would say this is a two or three star hotel. While the staff was friendly, the hotel seems very run down and outdated. Food at some of the restaurants was ice cold or too tough to eat. The buffet is the same everyday including purple Jell-O for some reason. Subpar food all around except for the Japanese restaurant which was excellent! My friend ordered an iced tea at lunch and was given a tequila and Coke instead. Zero white glove service. The gym was in bad shape with rusted equipment, missing pins to adjust the weight, or equipment frozen in the wrong position and unusable. Two of the three treadmills were out of order. The doors inside my room were damaged. There were no robes in my room. I had water leaking from the ceiling by the air conditioner unit and had to call three times to see where maintenance was. I had to pack up and move to another room at midnight. It's a shame because it has great potential on a beautiful beach with turquoise water but I would never go back.
