It was ok but won't go back!

It was fine. Overall the hotel was clean but very overpriced especially for food and lots of extra fees that get added on later. Staff was hit or miss. Some were friendly and helpful and others never smiled. We had a nice view of the ocean from our room and our room was clean and well stocked with coffee and extra towels. We travel a lot to different places around the world and it was not one of our favorite vacations. Probably one of our more expensive vacations unfortunately. Definitely nicer cheaper resorts to go to.

10/10 would do it again. But if you travel on a budget, scour the internet for tips/tricks on saving money. Pricey food!

We traveled with our kids internationally for the first time and we loved every part of this experience. Travel was safe and quick. Staff was great. Pools and water park were excellent and if we could have stayed for another week, we would have. My family did not want to leave. Some tips we learned on our journey: Pack snacks and food from home in a checked bag to do light breakfast and snack throughout the day at the park. Our foldable cooler was packed in the checked bag also and was a great help. We reserved a taxi through Mike's Taxi Service (search "Mike's Taxi Service" in Nassau) at the recommendations we saw in reviews and tips/tricks research. He was incredible and we encouraged him to keep building and be open to being a tour guide also. So friendly, knowledgeable, careful, prompt, hard working and 100% will use his service again WHEN we go back. He arranges times to get you from your flight and schedules times to get you from wherever you are staying to the airport when it is time to leave in plenty of time. He allows for a stop at local grocery store close to your resort if you want to get basics. There are different stops for drinks and groceries, so specify what you need and he will take care of you. He seemed to know everyone on the island! It is a town car, for size reference, but my family of four fit with our four huge suitcases! 10/10 would recommend this for your trip. Hotel fridge in the Coral was small, so be aware of that for food. There is a market within walking distance off property. We did not have to go, but could have easily restocked if needed. We packed cheap reusable bowls, plates and silverware sets and dish soap. We ate cereal and sandwiches and leftover pizza off them all week. There is a microwave in the Coral lobby near the gelato place available from noon to 10pm. I even did easy mac for the kiddos one night. Pools and waterpark were incredible. What we thought was a "lazy" river, turned out to be our favorite "ride" and we spent so many hours on it. It is a rapids tube ride that takes 20-30 mins to finish. Relaxing, yet exciting for my 7 and 15 y/o kiddos to want to do again and again. Many places to stop along the way to take your tube on rides or get off in a different spot in the park. We would recommend getting chairs at the "top" near the hammocks and beach as it is a good stopping point and great way to get anywhere in the park quickly either through walking or tubing. The trip is short to the "end" of the ride, where you get off your tube and walk across a short distance to get on the beginning where the very fun wave portion of the ride is. Lines were short when we were there in the "off-season" of mid-January, and even when cruise ships docked, we didn't feel it was ever too busy. Get a plastic souvenir reusable cup with a straw from one of the poolside cafes and you can refill it with pop/soda for free the rest of the time you are there. Beware of some small bees around there. I never got stung and just went about my business when refilling for coke/root beer. I believe you can refill them at bars for much cheaper adult beverages too but I chose to stay away this trip with the kiddos. Marina Pizza was great. Shake Shack was not new to us, but their tropical bended drink was incredible and ice cream concretes were also, neither were overpriced. Poseidon's table for breakfast was the cheap way to experience it and we HIGHLY recommend. Great staff and food. we went around 11 to get a brunch type of meal and it did not disappoint. We didn't eat again after until late in the evening. We were on floor five so ice was right there. We got ice each morning and night and used plastic quart bags for our cooler we reused all week. My daughter rode the "Leap of Faith" what seemed to be a dozen times. it is quick but was "AWESOME" according to her. I was a chicken, disguised as waiting with our son (7). My son's favorite ride was Serpent. Very cool experience you have to ride to understand. The ending was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had on a ride of any kind. Marina is right across the entrance parking lot from Coral, no need to ride the shuttle like we did the first day ;) but the shuttles are available for free to take you wherever you want to go on property. The beach was incredible. We moved from one to another as the sun moved throughout the day. The best for shells was near the Coral. The best for swimming was in the middle as there is a wave break. All staff treated us incredibly and everyone working there from the airports to the resort and back loved their home and wanted you to love it too. All in all we rate a 10/10 or 5/5 or max score of whatever scale you use. We will be back.

    Could've been so much better

Could've been so much better if not for the unreasonable prices at restaurants to the smell in the lobby to the time wasted at check-in. The highlight of the resort are the people working there who try to make your day just a little better. I doubt we will return.

Not recommended for those with disabilities

Elevators are few and far between and that is if they even work- every day we were at the resort there was at least one elevator that was out of order, causing us to have to back track and go completely out of our way to find another way to get anywhere- the pools, the beach, the casino, the restaurants. The staff was nice- it isn’t their fault that the powers that be at Atlantis only care to take the money of people with disabilities and don’t care if they can actually enjoy the amenities they are paying for during their stay. It is truly frustrating especially if you are older or have limited help getting around. There are not even facilities or a way for you to store your wheelchair safely to do the water park activities- they expect you to leave it unattended by the lounge chairs because the lockers that you have to pay $20-30 for don’t fit the wheelchair. A manager was nice enough to take the wheelchair but only after I emphatically pleaded my case. Again it isn’t her fault- this is totally the policy of Atlantis. They really have to do better. Would consider coming back to this beautiful country- but WILL NOT come back to Atlantis Resort.
