Terrific hotel, wonderful staff :)
It's a terrific hotel with a great location and a very responsive staff......not only during my holiday but afterwards as well - as I called to try and locate items I had left behind in my room and within minutes was able to confirm that Housekeeping (mahalo Rose) found them and Bs Center/Shipping (mahalo JP) would send them out.

Good experience
Fantastic stay, with a great location, nice amenities and had a good and comfortable bed. Also, the food is excellent and I like getting the body board. The staff is great and they have a tour concierge desk that provides excellent service and personalisation.

Dirty hotel
Not a clean hotel staff is very rude. Not on the beach. Restaurants are not good better to eat somewhere else Pool not cleaned Valet people aren’t careful with your car so be careful and take pictures it’s a shame you have to even think about this but management doesn’t care

The staff doesn't care
I stayed there in April 25 as a delegate pf EO's GLC. A breakfast buffet was prepared for us. I eat a vegan diet (this was stipulated) but when I went for breakfast there was no vegan options. I asked an attendant for a milk alternative (any one) and she said thet they don't have one. I then asked for food for vegans. She suggested fruit, I said that that wasn't enough (I paid the same rate as everyone else). She said that she'd call the chef. The chef comes out and tellss me that he can't help me. And that I should eat the fruit. I have NEVER experienced this before. I travel the world as a speaker and chefs are always happy to figure something out, even if it's just avocado toast. This guy wasn't interested. I then went down to the front desk and asked for a manager. A guy (I believe his name was Ian) said he'd help me. I told him the story but he just kept asking if I was sure that the client had requested my meal. I explained that I wasn't sure, but that that was besides the point. The point was the chef and team's complete unwillingness to make a plan. He kept pushing back that it was not on them. He then said he'd look into it and get back to me. He took my email address. I was there three more days. No plan was made. No email sent. All this tells you is that the staff just really do not care about customers, just about making sure that they are not to blame. Oh and the Bonvoy app key for the room didn't work. I went down to the front desk and they shrugged and said that it rarely does - SO WHY DO YOU SEND IT OUT THEN! Otherwise, room was fine.

Total Relaxation
What a beautiful resort. It’s made up of two adjoining towers. One is directly across the street from the beach, and the other one is behind it. We were in the second one. The Paoakalani Tower. We were on the 27th floor. As stunning as the view of Diamond Head was, I wish we were on the other side of the hotel with a view of the sunset. But I cant complain. We often went to the ‘Queensbreak’ pool grill which had a great view of the sunset. They also had a singer who played the guitar there every night. In fact, they also had a singer who played the guitar in the lobby every night as well. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The lobby is open air and huge with tons of comfortable places to sit. There’s one Starbucks inside the hotel and one on the exterior. There are two ABC stores inside the hotel. There’s an Enterprise inside the hotel (but parking is $55 per day). There’s an adult pool and a kids pool. They have beach chairs and boogie boards you can borrow for free. The beach is across the street. There’s a little ukulele store inside the resort that offers free lessons. There’s an LEI making class. The hotel has a luau (for a fee). The beach is really shallow and the water is so clear. Its enclosed by a barrier that keeps the water pretty calm, and keeps big fish out. I felt really safe floating around. Waikiki is a bustling city. I felt safe walking around even at night. We took the bus a few times. It was easy to navigate. $3 per person, per ride. We also rented a 2 person motorbike and drove around Diamond Head. I felt very secure riding on the back. There’s a place on Lemon Road (kind of across the street from the hotel) that rents out scooters ($42 for the day) and motorbikes. TIP: if you reserve a rental car, be prepared to wait an hour in line to pick it up. Doesnt matter which location you reserve it. Some of our favourite excursions: - the Polynesian Cultural Center ($95 entrance fee per person. Its worth it) - the North Shore. Specifically Shark’s Cove, the surfing town of Haleiwa, Waimea Bay Beach, Banzai Pipeline - the Dole Plantation (awesome gift shop. Yummy Dole Whip) - Rock-A-Hula luau - free hula show on Waikiki beach - Kuoloa Ranch - driving around Diamond Head There’s so much to see and do in Oahu.
